Thank you so much to all of you for your advice, warm words of encouragement, it means alot! I plan on posting more here once Kelli is doing better
I have taken advice here and it seems to be working with her! I have stopped crying (thank you), and only smile when I see her. I call her a good girl, tell her how much I love her, call her sweet names and coax her to me whenever I get a chance to. She still hides some, but I think it's because she needs/wants to rest and just be by herself, so I'm letting her have that time. She isn't shaking NEARLY as much as yesterday, she had a WONDERFUL night's sleep, too! The night before she was so scared and in so much pain she just couldn't get to sleep and yelped several times through the night

Not last night though, she got some good rest!
So far, we've only had a couple yelps this morning...which is good I think compared to her days without very good meds or no meds at all (in the beginning)....she tried to chase the cat this morning, lol, and when she took off to run, that's when she jerked and caused herself to hurt pretty bad. Hardest she's yelped in a while but we got her calm again and she seemed to be okay. She takes her medicine like a champ, I just can't believe what a little trooper she is! She had another yelping incident when she kinda got up too fast and stepped wrong, but that was short and she didn't seem to be too affected by it, just her normal ouchie. I'm thinking this stronger med is helping her (knock on wood) because she jumped off the couch this morning (we couldn't get to her in time, she moves so fast!) SLOWLY (she really braces herself) and she didn't yelp when she landed. She is taking to the floor more though, because she's just not doing all the jumping she once did. She's also really cautious to go down our back steps to the backyard....the Dr. said it was okay for her to continue to do that, just to watch her, and she's been hopping up and down them, trying not to put too much pressure on that one leg. I just hope we're on the path to recovery, because this poor little girl needs some rest.
We aren't exactly sure of her age....her previous owners didn't even tell us when her birthday was and we missed it! Found out a couple days ago it was last month

So we're going to have presents and stuff for her when she feels all better and can play and enjoy them

She's a very playful little girl, we think she's between 8 and 10 years old....she's had such a hard life, and we can't wait to give her all the love and attention she deserves. Thank you all, so much.
