Am I a Trader???

I will always have a maltese. They are wonderful, sweet and are so much easier to house train in my experience.

You guys!!! When you spelled "traitor" -- as "trader" --- I thought you were talking about trading your dogs for a maltese.

Now I get it... you're talking about being a traitor for getting and enjoying another breed.

I have a Yorkie and a Bichon - and have had many other purebreeds and mixed breeds in my life. I think they were all special, and I loved every one of them. It would never enter my mind to think that any one breed or dog is the best or all that I would ever want.

And for that matter, I know a lot of you here on YT have several different breeds of dogs - and love them all.

I got a maltese 1st because they don't shed. I have asthma & have been allergic to dogs all my life. I don't have any allergies to Misha. Piper my morkie, if she sleeps by my face, my eyes will water & swell. So I just try and keep Piper away from my face. LOL I'll wake in the morning & she's on my pillow. I just bought stock in Visine A.C. I think they are very similar to Yorkies. If you end up with a silky long haired there is more grooming. Size is the same also, depending on the parents. My girlfriend has a 6 year old at 2 lbs
Misha weighs 6.6. Ive seen them at 10 lbs. Some do have staining around the eyes, some don't. The only difference so far I have really noticed between Misha & Piper is, Piper goes wacko once or twice a day. That is, she'll start running through the house non stop until she tires out. She's more of a tom boy. Misha is prissy, and won't do this. The only time she runs is when Piper is chasing her.

My mom's friend had a maltese and she was the sweetest thing ever! She was so nice and friendly

I'm not an expert but I do have a year old Yorkie and a four year old female maltese........love them both. But I would add another maltese in a heart beat! Wouldn't even have to ask my husband about it.........he loves the maltese breed because of their sweetness and believe me she is 100% of hairy sweetness. The eye staining can be the result of lack of knowledge as to the cause and then making the necessary corrections. We got the maltese at 2 yrs. old and her face was so nasty looking we hesitated to get her.........so glad we didnt let that stop us. She is a beauty. I most likely would not get another yorkie (and I love my Toby) because they are alot of terrier action. The maltese is more layed back to me. At least this is the case with my two kidos.

Chloe is sooooooooooooooooo pretty! I am sure Scuffi would have had her as his girlfriend....back in his younger days! lol

I know you had your maltese as a kid.......but you never stop loving them. I dread when that day comes for me. Our Kallie is the sweetest girl and so much like what you described yours to be. I will ALWAYS have a maltese!! And my husband agrees. I truly think my husband would trade the yorkie for a maltese if he could find someone............not so sure I'd let him get away with it. They're just different breeds and very different in personality.

Daddy would work but I don't know about much sugar! lol
This is him last xmas and then him back in his good days. I rescued him when he was 3 years old. Dogs had fought with him and he was all scratched up around his eyes etc and was a real sight. He has been with me 12 years now and I cannot imagine the day he leaves for the bridge!

I have to agree with you on that...I can't stand that stuff in their eyes...And I know that it comes from the owners not taking very good care of them either...They have this crystal eye stuff that you can get and it takes away the stain from their eyes...My mom has a boxer and he is pure white and his eyes will get like that from time to time to...They are cute dogs...I just can't stand that discoloration when they cry
