I think DNA certified means they know for sure the parentage is correct. In other words it keeps people from just saying that a certain dog is the sire. DNA doesn't lie -- just ask those Crime Scene guys

DNA Certified means theyve DNA'd the male...

by AKC regulations a male must be DNA'd and on record if a male sires more than 3 litters in a calendar year or more 7 in his lifetime.
