| My brother told me the most shocking thing!! My Brother told me he hates dogs. He then told me "let me take that back" "I hate people who love their dogs!" I said i love my dog. He says "no" "I hate people who put little bows in their dogs hair and take them everywhere". "I hate people who dress up their dogs in ridiculous clothes and who let their dogs lick them on the mouth." He told me he hates how people treat their dogs like a human. I told him then he must hate me...I told him we wrap sonia up in a blanket and hold her like a baby. We bought her a little sweater to wear and the only reason she doesnt have a bow yet is because she hasnt enough hair. LoL. He looked at me and shook his head. I guess he aint loved enough???

| That is a shame. I have always loved animals and treated them very special. My family knows I love my furbabies and that I spoil them and treat them like my kids. While they would not probably do the same with their dog and spoil them and treat them like babies they accept that do with mine. Of course the cuteness factor helps!! My grandparents were anti-dog until I got my cocker and they love her. Now they love my smaller furbabies too and love seeing all the clothes, bows, etc that they have and want to baby them too!!

| It is funny because before my brother had heart surgery , I always told him that I hated cats . A few weeks after he came home , one of his friends offered him a Siamese kitten . Now , guess who will never let the cat go . Sometimes people say something just to have reactions from the others and It works . |

| i have always loved dogs but I had never had a small dog before. I never understood the whole clothing thing and I didn't like small dogs that barked like crazy and jumped all over me when I went to some one's home... my friends dog (It was a Jack Russell) got up on the dinner table while we were eating and I couldn't stand it!!! She had no control over her dog and just thought EVERY THING THE DOG DID WAS SO CUTE! I didn't like this dog! But now that I have my own baby I can see the flip side and an very caught up in the fur baby craze!!! I guess it took one of my own to understand.

| QUOTE["I guess it took one of my own to understand."]QUOTE That is me too -- I would sort of chuckle and shake my head when I saw someone who dressed their dog and treated it like a baby. Then a little Yorkie stole my heart and I had an epiphany -- suddenly I understood all the cooing, coddling, and love. I plan on spoiling mine as much as possible.

| I think Hubby said something similar at one point... Not that he hates it, just that he thinks it's dumb and pointless.... Enter our pups and the few sweaters/bows that I have.... He now thinks it's fun to dress Charlie up too. He even bought Charlie a sweater on his own! LOL, so what if it's sports related, he's still getting into it! |

Sure they look cute but the clothes are good when its cold too! HEHEHEHE I think I may be trying to convince myself, LOL Check us out if you wanna see why my mom and every else thinks I'm a little nutty!! LOL www.sweetpuppylove.zoomshare.com |

| I understand some people who feel this way. It is true that a lot of little dogs are totally out of control, and as much as they are loved --- who wants to have to be around them. It's not much different than having to put up with other people's misbehaving spoiled little children....no fun! As far as clothes, etc. I don't go crazy over this - but mine do have a few outfits -- and I think they look cute in them. And - they don't seem to mind wearing them at all. **** I think the thing we need to do is just tone it down and try and treat our little guys more like little dogs when we are around people like this. Nothing wrong with this. This is the way mine are treated most of the time anyway. Actually - I think they like being dogs. There must be something very special about being a dog - or we wouldn't love them as much as we do. Never argue with someone who feels this way. It really only makes things worse. And - don't we know - everyone has the right to their own opinion. I do think it's interesting that it's the people your brother doesn't like - not the dog. Something to be said about that! In all honesty - I have been around people who are "a little too much." Most of us aren't. We just love ouir pets. Good luck! Carol Jean |
