| Does anyone elses yorkie spin when they are left alone? I know this might sound like a strange questions but, whenever I leave Jaden in his play pen, even for just a few minutes he starts spinning in circles. He'll run from one end to the other looking for me and then he'll just spin and spin, and he'll start whimpering. I'll put some treats in his dish and this will stop him long enough for him to eat and then its back to spinning. Whenever I come near the pin he'll jump up on the side to be picked up and start going crazy until he is picked up and then he's fine. I was wondering if anyone else has a yorkie that spins when they are gone? Is it bad for them to do this? I was thinking it would make him sick from being dizzy but it doesn't seem to bother him. Is there any way to make them more calm when you're leaving. I'm not gone more than an hour or two at the most about 3-5 times a week and its normally in the evenings. Everywhere else I go I take him with me but I feel bad when I leave him and he's spinning...anyone had any ideas?? Thanks! |

| Winnie spins for treats, she actually does it on command too. Oh and she does TONS of tight, fast spins for Nutri-Cal. She loves that stuff. |

| The spinning your Jaden is doing seems like possibly a nervous thing or a separation anxiety. Poor little guy! I remember seeing something to do with a dog spinning on the Dog Whisperer, but I can't remember what advice he gave for that pup. I'm thinking maybe if you take Jaden for a walk before you go, so he uses up some energy, maybe then he'd lay down and sleep instead of spinning. Do you think he spins the whole time you are gone? If he stops shortly after you leave, I'd say it's nothing to worry about, but if he does it nonstop while you're away, it wouldn't be good for him. I'll see if I can find the program on the dog whisperer and if I get any new ideas from him, I'll let you know! Good luck!

| Thanks so much! When I come back he's normally in his bed or just standing in his play pin barking but I know that he does spin for a while because I've stood just out of sight where he can't see me and watched him and he's done it for about 20 minutes, not the entire time but spinning and then running to the gate of his play pen and jumping up and then spinning some more and jumping up running back and forth...I've noticed he does this too if I leave him with other people and I'm gone. He knows my sister pretty well but if I leave he'll start doing the same thing even if he's out and with her...it makes me feel so bad and I try to take him everywhere I go, I even ordered one of those new purse carriers everyone is talking about where you can bring your furbaby with you just about anywhere but there are some places I go I just wouldn't feel right bringing him there and I think the commotion and such would probably make him more nervouse than comfortable...I would love to hear any news if you find out anything. Thanks again!! |
