| My Yorkie won't eat from a dish ... Monday seems to prefer paper plates to regular dishes lately ..... I can put the same food from the dish on the paper plate and then she will eat it. Does anyone else have this problem? and maybe a solution???? (Oh itz dry food I am talking about.) Debbie

When Dezi was a baby she would not eat from the plate either, so I was hand feeding her and I was told to stop because then she would get spoiled. I then starting giving her paper plates and after she would eat, she would shred the paper plate to pieces. I then bought her small stainless steel plates and then she started eating out of her plate. She was also very picky and did not want to eat the dry food, so I would grate Natural Balance meat rolls on the dry food and she would eat it.

She doesn't rip the paper plate but if I use the cheaper white plates, after a week I saw a hole in the middle, so I switched to a coated plate last night .... I suppose itz not such an inconvenience, but i was just wondering WHY???? Does the paper maintain the "smell" better???? I actually use a mallet to "smash" her kibbles so she will eat it ... she seems to dislike the pellets as if they are too big for her. Shez 4.5 lb. and I am using California Natural Low Fat dry food. Maybe shez just bored???? Oh, and I also smash some cookie treats in with the kibbles .... (shame on me, I know) Thanks for your response ....

My sweet Chester (abused rescue) would not eat off of anything. He would push his food out of the bowl onto the floor and then eat it. Only thing I can figure out is that the previous owners just threw food on the floor of the garage for him or something. It was actually kind of fun to watch. He'd use his nose to push it out of the bowl and then happily have his meal. I miss that little furball.

My girls eat off the floor. But they really eat good if I throw it around the room and they get to go chase after it.

Mine usually eat from their bowls, although Prince seems to prefer the pink bowl over the blue bowl?? He is so weird - sometimes he stands over his bowl and growls and stares at me until I try to take it away from him. Then he'll eat it if he can fight for it. Angel is a little piggy and will eat just about anywhere.
