Major problem! I am currently taking a mini vacation and was going to take my yorkie along with me. I had everything packed and ready to go 5 hours before my departure time. I remembered putting Buttercup in his crate before picking it up and heading to the airport. Well, I failed to look inside his crate to make sure he was really in there but when I arrived and went to claim my luggages he was not in his crate! I freaked out and immediately notified the people at the airport. They had no answers for me and sent me on my way. I refused to leave and was escorted out by security. I called my mom for her to go check my house to see if he was there and he wasn't. So 3 hours after I went to my hotel I get a call. They found a dog and failed to give me descriptions of "the dog" they found. I rushed there and there was Buttercup shivering, shaking, matted, and covered in mud. I was furious. I want them to be held accountable for what happened but they refused. I had to take him to the groomer and have him shaved down and now he won't come outside of his crate! What should I do? |
OMG! I cannot imagine how devastated you were/are! I am so happy he is with you and safe. I imagine he is a bit traumatized and it will take him some time to "readjust" poor baby. I agree, the airlines needs to take accountability for this event. I am so upset and mad at them for you! |
OMG! I can't imagine! I don't know about you, but I'd be finding somebody to sue! These little guys are as defenseless as babies and have to be cared for as such! Sic 'em!!!! |
so sorry the airport takes no responsibility for anything they wont start now again Im so sorry |
awwwwwww poor baby! Just try to make him feel at home cuddleee! |
Wow that is so scary. Thank goodness you have Buttercup. Sad to say the airport/airlines are not going to do anything for you.. You could lodge a complaint just to make yourself feel better. Just give Buttercup extra hugs and kisses..........:hearts-xx |
What an awfull experience! I'm so sorry for you... Didn't they allow him in the cabin? |
where did they find him? |
shipping I am sooo happy to hear your found your Yorkie...whenever you ship a pup, put one of those plastic slip ties on the door to prevent it from coming open or anyone opening it...if there is a problem enroute with the dog, the tie can be easily cut off...there is no reason for anyone to remove the dog unless there is an emergancy...sometimes I have even put duct tape around the carrier to secured it. |

OMG I am so sorry that happened to lil buttercup. poor guy. I hope he is doing better soon. I always Drive to where I have to go with my Yorkies so I never had to deal with airlines. I hope you can get some answers and find out what happend soon.:ghug: from all of us to you. |
That must have been a 'heart stopper' .... Give him the love you always did and he will become more settled ... it must have been so traumatic for him ... but on the upside ... you have him .... As someone else said, the airlines do not even want to be held accountable for luggage .... How many others on here travel with their Yorkies? In Cabin or in a crate in the cargo area? |
