| remember me? i know i've been absent from yorkie talk for a few months, but college and life and whatnot has kept me too busy. anyhoo. i'm about to leave for the vet so i have to make this quick. my roomate accidentally stepped on baxter's leg while walking down the stairs and broke it VERY badly. it wasnt a very clean break either. the jagged edges turned the surrounding muscles into "hamburger meat" according to the vet, and he also said that it's very likely that a major nerve was damaged and baxter may not have full function of that leg again. he had his surgery yesterday and now he has a rod through the bone with two sticking through his skin connected by an acrylic fixture. and the external fixture must stay in place for 8 weeks. this is a very bad situation. not to mention vet bills are going to be at least $1000+ which i have no idea how i'm going to handle it. i'm in my third year of college and eating ramen noodles everyday. but that's not the point. please guys.. keep baxter in your thoughts. the next 10+ weeks are going to be really tough. yorkies arent usually very happy about not being able to move for an extended period of time. |

| Oh, Mikey, I am so terribly sorry! And, yes, I had been wondering what had become of you and Baxter! I know how worried you must be about him and, yes, it won't be easy with your schedule and trying to take care of him, but I know that you love the little guy so much that you will find a way! We will keep both of you in our prayers! Please update us and please give him hugs & puppy kisses from Toto & me? Keep your chin up!

| Mikey - I'm so sorry about Baxter's poor leg. I will keep him (and you) in our thoughts for a full and speedy recovery. Perhaps your vet will work with you on a long-term payment plan? You have been missed. Hope classes are going well. Take care of yourself, too.

| I'm so sorry to read of Baxter's accident! Sending lots of prayers that the next 8-10 weeks fly by and all will be better with him. Keep your chin up! We've missed you around here (certainly understand about college!) and it's good to see you here. Please keep us updated on Baxter and his progress.

| Mike...so sorry to hear about Baxter. We all know how much you love this little dog and what he means to you. We will definitely keep you both in our prayers. Poor little guy. Explain your situation to your vet....I bet he remembers what it was like to be in college and to live on Ramen noodles...I know I certainly remember those days. You take it easy, hon. You have alot of people here who care about you and who will always be here for support when you need it. |

| Aw poor Baxter! I hope he has a speedy recovery. Hopefully your vet can give you a discount, or work a payment plan out for you. Good luck!

| Oh, that poor baby. Don't worry about those vet bills. Pay them $20 a month to keep them quiet and just worry about taking care of your baby right now. |
