| AKC's Lost & Found I just registered my pup online this AM. I looked at all the options they have to get more bucks out of you. I started to order their lost and found tag. I actually did, but before I completed the order I went back and took it off. It is an interesting idea. Another tag with you ID # on it. Should your darling become lost & then found they would call the AKC # listed and get your info. I started thinking about it.... My baby is already tagged and will be chipped when he is neutered. So another tag seems redundant. Then I started thinking.... If my baby was lost and then found by someone who saw this AKC tag w/his number would they start thinking he was really valuable and in essence hold him hostage for a fat reward? Could they use that info to gain access to his records and perhaps keep him as a breeder (If he hadn't been neutered yet)? The more I thought about it the more paranoid I became. Am I alone in this or does anyone else think this is not such a great idea? |

| OMG!!! I ordered that tag for whiskey and have it on her collar right now. I have been thinking the same thing about somebody seeing it and dognapping her...i am going to get her microchipped on Monday and just keep that tag with her akc & shot papers in my safety box at the bank with my other important papers.
