| I can't believe this is happening to me.... Okay, Spankie has been with me for two days and he surprised me yesterday. He woke up at 1am to go to the bathroom and when we came back, i had him on my lap. He turns around and starts humping my leg. LOL I was like " I can't believe this *&$%...LOL. So my niece had plush toy puppy and I gave it to Spankie. He did his duty to his new girlfriend. When does he stop being in heat?

| Spankie When you neuter him. Yorkie males do not "GO" into heat...they are born in heat. LOL We, must teach them good manners and discourage humping or it becomes an all consuming past time. LOL Have him neutered or learn to live with it..doesn't bother some people, I don't like my visitors bothered by a dog attached to their leg. |

| I have stories about mine looking like the elephants doing tricks in the circus. You know how they walk on their back legs with their front legs up on the one in front. Sometimes, there was not a male in the bunch..females do it as a dominance thing, IMO. I have sewed up some small bean bags and when I need to correct behavior such as that, I make my uuhh sound and toss a bean bag at them. If you have any hope of correcting that behavior you should have him neutered as soon as possible. There are studies now that show it is alright to neuter at 12 weeks of age. Give the activity a name, if you want to use "hump" remember you might use it in public so it might not be the best word..LOL . You have to use the same words and actions no matter where you are to correct the behavior. It is not gender specific and females are as likely to do it as males. |

| Yeah, I was told when a female humps it is a dominance thing...But dominance how? Is it that she is trying to rule over me lets say?

| My feeling is that she is not sure of where she stands with her pack mama. Move her aside and ignore her or distract her. But, do not play with her while she is exhibiting this behavior. Did you have a chance to observe her with her siblings and mom? Could be that there was confusion in the litter due to early removal from her littermates and mom. THIS IS JUST SUGGESTION as to the cause. I am in no way inferring that your breeder did anythiing wrong but in some states and areas, puppies can be sold at 6 weeks. That means they are removed from their social order very early. |

| I am so happy that I have never had this problem. It grosses me out. Stewie's parents were humping each other when we went to pick him up. Maybe they were upset about losing their last baby and wanted to have more

| Seeing that someone else bought up the subject I would like to ask if anyone else has this problem. When Jack gets amorous with his toy "friend", his little (pistol) for want of a better word, stays out for quite some time, and I get worried that it won't go back in the holster. Do I have a stud muffing or what? He is 6 months old.
