| A new addition??? Hi there Well we are considering adopting Reyna's half sister We both work all day and were thinking it would be nice for Reyna to have someone to play with. The only reservation that I have is...I'm afraid of my little princess getting jealous..... is this silly to think?...I love my baby soooooo much and do not want her to feel neglected at all. Any input would be greatly appreciated =) Also, do yorkies ever not get along with other yorkies? Any advise on our potential new addition to the family? Thank you! |

| It really depends on the dog. Lacy was one that didn't want any other dogs to share attention with, but when I got K.C. he loved so much when my Mom visited with her dogs that I got another (two actually) and he has really enjoyed them and I am home all day with mine. He does seem to think that he is allowed to do things that they're not - we need a t-shirt that says "Because.......I'm special". |

| I'm betting Reyna will love having a friend! Just make sure you do everything for Reyna first at the beginning...give her a treat first, pet her first, etc. She may be jealous at first, but that wears off quickly. Cooper loved the new addition the first day, the 2nd and 3rd day were rocky, and here a month later they play together like crazy. Getting the 2nd one even had some bonus effects for Cooper, he now eats (he was soooo picky before). He also doesn't do the biting thing on us anymore...he gets his playtime in with Carley. It is more work at first, but not for long, and the joy at seeing them enjoy each other offsets any extra work. Cooper gets no less attention from us either, I think we enjoy him even more because we have so much fun watching the two of them. Good luck in whatever you decide, two of them is lots and lots of fun!!!

| When I added Venus after having Adonis 5 years, I did just what Luvthecooper did. I did for Adonis first. Adonis loved Venus from day 1 although there were a few rocky days there. I hadn't seen Adonis run and play like this since he was a puppy! But he still lets her know he's the boss in this house. I feel it was the best thing I could have done for him, now he has a playmate. Sure wish I'd done this 4 years ago! |
