Boy, doesn't this sound like a scam. This classified ad appeared in our local newspaper. I have emailed out of curiosity.

PUPPY -- YORKIE AKC registration Yorkie Puppy Joshy it has all the teddy bear features, button nose great facial expression, erect ears. It is very playful and built solid as a rock. Its body type is just perfectly squared up and cobby. She is a great eater. The puppy health is %100 OK! (+1 year health Guarantee), 1st shots, 11 weeks older, AKC registered, de-wormed, fingers trimmed. She is 11 weeks older and I'm only asking $400.00 for the puppy. This will include shipping/ handling, insurance and every other neccessary expense regarding the delivery of the puppy. Many of you Yorkie lovers have been waiting for this quality of Yorkie to come your way but have not found one yet. The scammers have definitely started advertising in local papers. You can definitely tell by the wording and the misuse of English. I guess business is pretty good if they can pay for advertising! Don't even want to guess what an ad of that length would cost to run in my local paper! I pick and choose my words so carefully just to stay under $30.00! I guess the word is out to most internet savvy people, so now they are targeting those that don't use computers and have internet and have not been warned about these scams.

Fingers trimmed??? I think I've heard it all now! And a dog with shipping for 400 bucks.....I smell something here!

Yes, it's a scam. Same appears on my local newspaper. They have no sense of grammar and capitalize every first letter of each word.

I am going to call the local paper to let them know. Don't know what good it will do but it will give me peace of mind that I tried to stop some innocent person in our area from getting caught in this. This makes me sooooo mad!!!

Weird...I replied to an ad on craigslist and got scammed out of some money. The person was in Cameroon though (next to Nigeria).

I didnt even know about you guys until just now! I am a yorkie owner and know how great they are and wanted to get one for my cousin who is a 10 year old boy with severe Cerebral Palsy. My family has very limited income so when I found one that was a "good deal" I went for it. I just figured out today that I was scammed after weeks of trying to get him this dog and went back to craigslist to see someone warning about Yorkie scams that led me to this link.

Makes me sick that people can scam a sick child out of money and live with themselves. I just really wanted this boy to have a puppy and let it get to far with having hope in people. Taking it as a lesson learned

I would contact your newspaper and ask that they not run the ad -- they really should have spotted the scam themselves and not run it in the first place. Sad that some people will try to take advantage of people any way they can.

It was actually on Craigslist that I got the posting. Ya know, it sucks I am out the money, but REALLY makes me sick to my stomach is that I told them the dog was for a special needs child and they would ask how he was in e mails and acted like they cared, and then did this to him. THAT is the really sad part.
