I massaged Stewie's ears and they stood at 5.5 mos old. They're back down again now because he's sick :( |
Diet? When I got my female Abigail, she was 7 weeks old. The Breeder had been shaving her ears completely since she was about 4 weeks old. I continued to shave her ears weekly. At 12 weeks her ears are up! I still believe it was a combination of her diet which I supplemented with extra calcium, from cottage cheese, cheddar cheese and even laced chicken breast with powdered calcium supplements from the Vet. I was determined to get them up. |
Daisy is 8 months and both ears are down. I think she looks absolutely adorable the way she is and if they stay down so be it, it just adds to her cuteness! :dog: |
Not quite sure, but Maggie's ears have been standing up since she was 8 weeks old. The breeder said they may droop a little while she is teething, but will perk back up on their own. |
Maggie's breeder taped all the puppies ears. She would use masking tape. She folder the ear together, wrapped masking tape around it and left it on for three days. When she took the tape off, the ears were up and perky. |
Gizmo is 12 weeks today and I would say his ears are up. His ears are funny - they're like little antennas moving around trying to tune in to a signal. I considered naming him Radar because of that. :) |

Yicks! Masking tape, that takes the hair off unless they are completely shaved. Clear packaging tape works the best. All of mine were always up by 9 weeks. My moms dog has one ear up and one ear down. His up ear we call his antenna :) |
Molly was 7 months old when we got her and her ears were down, and very hairy. I cut the hair to the edge of her ears and they stood up immediatley. She is now 11.5 months old, hair is over 1" long off her ears and they are still up. I'm thinking I need to cut it again, but she is adorable with this big headed look! |
Ears!!! Dinero's ears stand up...but I think when he is tired that one kinda flops down. Maybe its just me...but it sure looks like it!! |
I feed mine cottage cheese like someone said they are lacking calcium at this time because of teething. i also shave their ears. |
Are all your babies listed Yorkies? Do they all eat the same thing? How do you deal with fussy eaters? |

calcium... so what about extra calcium...does it really help or is it a waste? and what is the best way to supplement it? pill form, cottage chesse, ect. |
rofl...... i am imagining everyone who has read this thread all taking yorkies out for a walk with tampon applicators attached to their ears! lol personally i like floppy ears, we went to pick Buddy up at 7 weeks and he was the only pup of the 3 there who's ears were floppy which i love, i must be odd, if his ears go up i'll want to tape them down again! lol I definately wont be able to show him, he's got floppy ears, a tail and he's already over 4lb @ 11 weeks, and i wouldnt change a thing about him, he's my gorgeous fur ball ! :p |
