| Puppy Proofing Home: Ideas Needed Hello, I 've been a member for a short time now and would appreciate any suggestions and ideas on puppy proofing my home before I get my furbaby. I would like to know if there are any products out there where I can windup the telephone extension cord w/o it getting tangled and getting it out of the pups way and preventing teething or damage from the pup playing with it. Something like a hidden storage cord wind up I think?. I live in a apartment so there are no open yards to worry or porches either. Many thanks in advance, Maria |

| This is going to sound silly, but crawl around your apt on your hands and knees and see what's on the puppy's eye level. Anything that they can grab or bite at should be secured. I'm not sure what to tell you about winding up cords. Maybe try Radioshack.com or circuit city or best buy for ideas.

| What I do is neatly wind up the cords and then hook them with this double sided velcro that I bought just for that purpose. I also bought a few thick plastic tubes from Lowes and put all the computer cords into it so they couldn't get to those.

| I replaced my phone cord with a retractable one. It's inexpensive, 8.00 for about 35 feet at walmart |

| With a dog I had once he chewed every thing so we threaded all our cords in plastic PVC pipe.gave him plenty of good things to chew. put gates up , But, he still manage to find something we forgot. So goood luck. my yorkies real do not chew things up around the house except TOLIET PAPER ...THEY LOVE IT..

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My husband hides as many wires as he could along the baseboard and carpet. Also look for spaces, like behind dressers, wall units etc that they can get behind and you can't get them out easily/ We blocked all those places with pillows or cardboard
