My furkids Donating Member | I have a poop question Lillie is 13 weeks old today...Sometimes when she poops she lets out a yelp. It's not all the time and it is usually right at the end. I bought some nutro(wet puppy food) and this seems to help but, sometimes she likes to eat it dry and this is when I notice that her poop may hurt her a little...she doesnt' seem to be constipated at all....Have any of your furbabies ever done this?

| I've never experienced anything like that but is her bottom shaved? Maybe her poop is getting stuck?

| My babies have never done that and I feed them nutro too, you might want to ask your vet about that. You might also want to try Missiing Link nutrional supplements becasue it has fiber in it and that might help her poop and also it does wonder for skin & coat plus its supposed to help them have a longer healthier life . I started my girls on it 2 weeks ago and they like it.

| I would take her to the vet and have her anal glands checked. She might be clogged up |

My furkids Donating Member | I just cut the hair around her bottom last week so that isn't the problem. She doesn't cry all the time...it usually is only when she eats just the dry food. She doesn't have a problem going poop. She does tend to be a whiner...has been since day one. Once her poop didn't completely come out...I think she may have eaten a little piece of lint and it got kind of stuck. Although I am not really all that worried about it I am bringing her to the vets Thursday and I am going to mention it to him. Thank you for your replies

| My dog is four years old and has never had her anal glands expressed. Of course your vet can recommend what needs to be done, but some people have it done as a matter of course when they go to the groomers and I don't think that's a good idea. I think it's better if she only eats dry food. Does she drink enough water? You could also buy some plain canned pumpkin. It is full of fiber and your puppy should like it. My dog does although I've only given it to her when I was making a pie. If you do buy some, make sure it is the plain pureed. The pumpkin pie mix already has sugar and spices in it which you don't want. |

| Nutro makes those desserts for doggies, one of them is Pumpkin Pie (Pepper tried and absolutely loves it! ). So you get the fiber and healthy snack at the same time... They come in little cans in the dog food section in pet stores.

| If you don't think it is the hair pulling from getting stuck, then I would think something is wrong with the anal glands, maybe just need to be expressed or there might even be a small tumor. I think I would get it checked it doesn't sound normal. |
