| Foaming at mouth!?!??! Hey! Today was the Seattle Yorkie meetup day!!!! It was so much fun!! I promise to post up pictures when I have time, but I was just wondering if any of you guys know this (my vet doesn't know this either) but this was Princess's first time with like 20 something Yorkies and when she was there she was really shy, but eventually she got used to it. Anyways, when she was there, she started foaming not a little but A LOT at the mouth!!! Like nonstop!! We thought it was the heat (it wasnt that hot though) or it was cuz she was too nervous (but she was really getting used to them!) so we took her away for a bit and gave her water and treats and sat in the shade. Then right when we went back the foam started coming out from her mouth again!! (Btw YES she has all of her shots and shes NOT sick) I kept trying to wipe it with tissue and it was like all thick and gooey.... She acted fine other than that... still her normal self... after we left it finally did stop and shes fine now all hyper again.. This has happened like twice before at random times not with other dogs... but it was only a little and it stopped after a sec... But anyway... has this happened to anyone before!?!?!?! It was sooooo weird so I had to leave early... SO ANYONE!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | One time when I had my Male, Zorro I took him to my friends house and she had a female dog, all of a sudden we saw all of this foam and couldn't figure it out at first, but then we tracded it to Zorro. I couldn't believe how much there was. I have never had any other dog do this. So it must be a nervous/excitement thing.

| I had read somewhere that dogs do foam at the mouth when they are excited or worried or if they eat a frog.

| One time a friend of mine had her tiny chihuahua over and we took her into my backyard to go to the bathroom. We had not mowed our grass for a while and it was taller than her. She hopped out a ways from us to do her business and while we were talking we noticed her begin to foam at the mouth. We realized she was doing that because she was scared and felt trapped by the tall grass!!! |

| The only time Maddie foamed from her mouth was when she had tonsillitis. If your pups aren't acting ill, and if there were no frogs or toads around,I'd have to guess it's a nervous or excitment thing. I've also heard they can foam at the mouth from licking on certain plants or from bug bites.
