| Adding up to the green eye shine controversy... Was just reading through threads and kept bumping into one explaining the green reflection in he eyes... Everyone says it's an indication of a silky coat. Look at the pic, it's as green as can be so why does he mat all the time? Will his coat change into silky as he grows?? His coat is like wool right now but I've never seen anything other than greenish shine in the eyes (soon I'll blind poor Pepper with that flashlight LOL)....

| I dont believe the shine color theory because Chachi is a cotton coat and his eyes always shine green

| Yeah I have read them too but have no idea just how true they are. I know that Diesel has a combo-coat. He had a cottony coat all over as a pup and knotted up. Now that he is older his head has become silky. My groomer use to raise and show Yorkies and she said he may always have a combination coat. You have a cutie either way! Michelle |

| Maybe its just his puppy coat? Cali's would mat all the time when she was younger, but now it's as silky as can be!

| weather your dog has a silky coat or not you wont be able to tell by shining a light in there eyes. all dogs have a mirror like membrane called a tapetum which reflects light that has already passed through the retina a second time, brown eyes reflect green, if it reflects red it means its the same as mans eye and shows the blood vessels so the tapetum is missing in the eye. dogs who have a blue look to eyes when a light is not shone in there eyes are blind.
