Lady is getting spayed today I dropped Lady off this morning at the vet to get spayed...I felt so horrible leaving her there....I was crying on the way there, my poor love looked so sweet and had no clue what is in store for her.... I've been a nervous wreck since last night (my poor bf had been so tolerable of me) and I'm sitting at work now with a knot in my stomch worrying about her...I don't know how I'm going to get through this day.... |
aww, I know you cant help but worry.. but she will be fine i'm sure. So many have this done. Kizzy had it the 1st part of August and she did ok. She seemed kinda sore for a day or so but then again I'm just a worryier.let us know when yur vet calls to say all went fine. good luck |
AAAWWW she will be fine...I know the feeling though. We worry about everything because they are our babies. Many blessings to you and your baby. |
I will be thinking of you, but keep yourself busy and that will help pass the time. |
It's awful, isn't it? But you know what? They are tougher than we think they are. It's only natural to worry and I can't think of a time I didn't dread it. I walk out crying, too!:( Your little one will be very glad to see you when the time comes. Kacee was wiggling so much when the girl brought her out to me that evening, I just had to laugh a little, but then I started crying again! Tears of joy!:D |
awww....just think about it, she will be in your arms in no time. hope everything goes well and she heals fast! |
Awh... Cheer up :love-hug3 She'll do just fine and she'll be back in your arms before you know it. My Muffin had hers done last month and was home acting like nothing ever happened. |

I know exactly how you feel - even though you have complete faith in your vet, you still worry. The worst feeling I had was handing Oscar over to the vet the day of his neuter - I just felt terrible leaving him there (first time away from me) and him not understanding why. I was a big boob about it and I cried there in front of the vet. I felt like such a weiner, but she was so sweet about it. I don't know if your vet generally does these surgeries in the morning, but I would just call around noon and see how she did. I felt much better when I called and heard he was awake and doing well. I also got to bring him home that evening so he was only away from me for the day. I'm sure your baby will be fine! Just give the vet a call to put your mind at ease! |
Thank you all....I'm at work now and is kinda busy here...but its not keeping my mind off Lady.....They told me I could pick her up at 4 today, since I won't be letting her stay overnight like they recommeded to me....I'm going to call the vet at 11:30 and see how things are...they told me to call at 2:30, yeah sure I'm going to wait that long worrying about her....they are all going to love me over there today....lol....I hate this feeling...I just keep looking at the clock....I miss her already...and this is the first time shes ever been away from home without me....my poor love.... |
I know how it is. They look so pitiful and don't understand when you walk away without them. Your baby will be ok. Just keep your little one very quiet tonight and absolutely no running or jumping, although I doubt she will feel like it. Take care and may today fly by for you!:) |
she'll be back in your arms before you know it! |
I just called the vet....they can't give me any information until 2:30 when the Dr. is done with all the surgeries.....thats not right...I'm just called to see if shes still waiting or if they did it yet....now i'm freaking out...i just want to know something....how can I sit here and wait until 2:30  |
That is quite a wait, but you don't have any choice. So...count to ten and take a deep breath. I have no other advice. We are at their mercy.:( They do them all at once, so when he's done and had lunch, then you'll find out that she did just fine. I'm sorry for the wait. I know it's torture. |
You said you are not letting her spend the night. My vets keeps them overnight also to keep and eye on them, But how do they do this if they are closed? Do vets have a night person? Peanut still has a couple months before his neuter and I will not have him stay the night if no one is there to watch him. I feel I can wait him at home. Wishing your Lady well. |

There will be no one there to watch her overnight..they tryed to convince me that I sould let her stay but, if no one is going to be there and something happens then what... I rather her be home with me tonight so I can keep an eye on her myself....I'm sure its going to be a sleepless night but at least I'll know she'll be ok.... 2 1/2 more hours to go before I can find out how shes doing :( |
I agree with you 100% you will feel much better having her with you than there all alone. I will be doing the same thing weather they like it our not. It has to be scary to be there by themself without mom. Keep us posted. |
30 minutes to go till I find out how Lady made out...oh I'm so nervous, the knot in my stomach is getting worse and the clock is moving so slow |
Amy, I am sure she will be fine. Yes, your right to bring her home as long as there are no after effects from surgery. Better with you than alone. Good luck. Keep us posted.:) |
I just got off the phone with the vet...everything went fine all routine...I feel a lot better and I know I'm in for the long haul with her tonight...but at least she'll be with me and not alone somewhere unfamiliar....I'm leaving work at 3 and picking her up at 4..I'll try to post and update tonight if i'm able to get to the computer otherwise I'll post an update tomorrow since we have to go back to the vet for a check up, since shes not staying over night...thank you again everyone for all your kind words and support....you all really helped me get through my day..... |
I hope you hear soon that all is well! It is so scary and hard to have our babies go through this, but they seem to perk up quickly after surgery! It's a good thing you're busy at work...helps the time go by quicker. I'm glad you're getting her back today! She will feel so much better being back with you! |
Glad she did ok. I just remembered when I went in the office to pay for Kacee being spayed and to pick her up. When they brought her out, she started wiggling (as I said earlier) and I can still remember I said, "Oh, honey!" and I just dissolved into tears! I couldn't say anything else, so we left.:D |
Shes home....I am so happy.....as soon as she saw me I got kisses...shes resting in her crate now....she seems very tired but not out of it....I'm glad shes home with me now.... |
I am very happy to hear that everything went well!!! My prayers are with you and your furbaby for for a speedy recovery! |
I'm glad everything went well & she is home with you. I to insisted on bringing Misha home, I'm so happy I did. Piper gets spayed the end of this month & the new vet we have want's to keep her, so I have to go through all this again. |

Thank you!!! I'm relieved that shes home with me...right now shes resting in her crate next me....my vet tried to convince me to let her stay overnight...but I was not having it and the funny thing was that when I went to pick her up and was talking with the tech, she told me she was glad that I was bringing her home and wished they had more clients like me who were really concerned about there dogs....She knew I wasn't just taking her home to be selfish she realized my concern for lady. its so ironic how things turn out in the end |

I am glad that she is feeling well and that you had an uneventful night. |
