| Yorkie Height On another thread, a poster gave a link that stated a standard height of 7 1/2 inches for Yorkies. I have never seen that before and cannot find it on either the American & English standards. Is anyone else familiar with this? Is it something that judges would be looking for? Thanks for your help. |

| I've seen 9 x 9 as the standard and up to 7 pounds. 7 1/2 seems short for a 'standard' yorkie. My Lola is about 7 inches tall(not even 2 1/2 pounds last vet visit) and she's tiny, next to a 'regular' yorkie she looks like a puppy. Also I've seen between 7 and 9 listed.

| I had never seen anything about height before so I was surprised to see that. Little Bit is probably that tall now at 5 months & 3#. I knew they were supposed to be basically square but had not seen any numbers given. The link was on the thread about black yorkies if you want to see it. I had never heard of that website before but sounded like it was from a prolific author. Thanks for your reply. |

| Any truth to height standard?? http://home.att.net/~wdcusick/YorkshireTerrier.html That is the first time I've tried to post a link so have not idea if it will work. I also know absolutely nothing about this site so am not recommending or substantiating anything about it. As I said I just saw it posted on another thread & was surprised to see a standard for height for Yorkies. Really just wanted to know if this has any merit to it. Thanks for replying. |
