Standard or not that is one gorgeous dog, and you can bet if she were mine I'd be trying to clone her,. Don't you believe that all breeds have gone through this as people have pushed to get their non-standard dog accepted by the AKC? It's just the way with people, some are very resistant to change. I personally love the variety that yorkies provide. I don't give a rats behind about showing. Maybe that is the Redneck in me, I'm definitely no aristocrat. Iksdolls is right, it's just a matter of time before the new colors catch on. And to think, in the past the culled them and kept it their dirty little secret. |
1 Attachment(s) OMGness... Thanks for all the compliments on my Biscuit! His color never from puppyhood just never changed. Oddly his brother from the same litter is what I guess one would call the standard color. See for yourself... Linda - I just got word that Biscuit has a sister available - Same Mom and Dad. PM or email me if your interested. ;) |
They are both adorable. No matter the color I always love all the sweet lil Yorkie pictures on here:littleang |

does that mean you're a red neck because your different? if so then I am a true redneck. I like my stuff to be different than other peoples altho I didnt have a choice in yorkies. I didnt find other colors. ha. But i'm from Alabama so much for rednecks. lol |
I am always amazed at how uptight every one gets about meeting the Yorkie standards...... A lot of you have the most beautiful good-looking Yorkie's in the world, and many of us have darling little Yorkies that don't meet the standards very well at all...... and we love them to pieces. I actually think that a lot of people don't even realize that their Yorkies are as far from standard as they actually are -- Whatever -- I think the "white Yorkie" is absolutely beautiful - and I would pay a little extra for her because she is so beautiful and interesting and different - to heck with the standard! (My pets are all neutered and spayed.) I don't think many of us are showing our dogs - and most of us aren't into breeding and are responsible owners and get our pets spayed and neutered. I personally think that having so many different Yorkies that all look so different is just another exciting thing about this little breed. ******** One of you here has a little dog that is part Bichon and part Yorkie and it's almost pure black --- now this is really harder for me to believe than for a little Yorkie to be predominately black. Just goes to show -- you never know - do you? Carol Jean |
I can't find the picture now :( but I did see an all white yorkie that a lady said she'd created(it had a picture of the mom, very pretty all white long hair). My sister used my computer while visiting and I think she ersased my links! Now I can't find it. She did say it's not recognized by the akc though. I think a yorkie can be practically black with some white maybe and change over time. I know there were some puppies on here for sale with normal yorkie parents and the puppies had some white on their feet. You just never know. |
