If you don't belive it, buy ...and you will see it by yourself very soon.

Please read about the breed more, looks at the pics...go and take a look on other litters and you will see it.

Just don't do this mistake !
If they give it for free, or for very little $$. take the mix, it's all good.
But if you want a yorkie, don't get the puppy...because it's a 100% mix.

The baby in your pic doesn't look like a yorkie but when I got Piccolo, he was mostly black at 3m and now at 9 he looks like this :

If you look at my avatar you will see Darla who is black with white markings (she has the same markings now at 6 months that she did at 8 weeks) she is a Borkie (Yorkie/Bichon mix) she looks just like a yorkie only she is black! I would tend to think yours is a mix too. Also in my avatar is a pic of my Reece at 7 weeks old..he is 10 weeks old now...see all the tan on him?? I hope if you get this pup you arent spending a fortune on it...but Im sure it will be a wonderful pet for you!! Good luck!!

Nah, not spending much at all. I am going to check more into it though before my fiance spends money. The puppy is a birthday gift for me so I want to make sure it is 100%. I just don't possibly see, knowing him, that the puppies are anything but. I have been out there and don't see anything but yorkies and poms, in seperate cages. I don't see how any other dog could get in. I just don't know. :(

Dont worry about it sweetie...as long as you love your birthday present...he will love you right back!! And maybe it IS a purebred!! I wouldnt trade my Darla for a million dollars..nope no way never!! Good luck to you!!! And make sure you post a million pics when your baby arrives!!

Also I wanted to let you know..I spend $450 on Darla!! I knew she wasnt a purebred but she was small and healthy and came from a wonderful set of parents...some may say why so much on a mix...but to me she was worth every single cent!! Now I bought my Yorkie for only $100 more...but neither is more special...ya know what I mean...I love them equally!!

This is exactly the key.
You KNEW she wasnt purebred.
It was your chouse, and it's just wonderful.
of course you love them the same.

But in this situation....it's different, because they say "it's a purebred yorkie" and this is what make me really mad.
It's not a purebred yorkie...
They are just not honest at all...

I really don't think it is a purebred Yorkie. How much do they weigh at 10 weeks so we can give you our opinion on whether they are being honest in their weight at maturity.

Barb, I have never seen a Yorkie with sooooooo much black! He is beautiful.

I don't know if you can see my avatar well enough but Lucy was 3 and a half weeks and had quite a bit of tan. That black dog did look like a poodle.

not meaning to to be mean to any one. But don't you think you can Wait till you see a picture before you tell kelly that the dog she is looking at buying is not a yorkie? I feel so bad for her. It is her first time here and she is getting the pup from family.Not only do I feel some are being upsetting to her but to her family also. Sorry I just had to say something. :rolleyes:

Thanks Daisey...if I knew it would cause this I would have just kept my mouth shut. I came here to get some info and help. Not to be criticised or basically called stupid. I am new to this. That is why I am here to learn. I have known this gentleman for a long time and have been out to his house and like I have said so many times before in other posts, I do not possibly see a way another dog could have gotton into the fenced yards. All that is around there are yorkies and pomeranians but those are in a seperate yard.

I am taking this all in though. I do appreciate all the advice and all the help everyone has offered and the people here for the most part seem to be really cool.

I just went back and read each and every post. Saying that you think a dog is not a purebred is not being mean, it's giving an opinion, and sharing your knowledge of Yorkies.

I didn't see anything hateful, maybe one poster was a little more forceful in their opinion, but that could very well be a language barrier translation.

Kelly Alot of time people post with out eading all of the othe posts. there alot of experiance With yorkies and I love what I learn from them. I do know from having computer geek hubby that when he trys to make a point the sometimes he makes me feel stupid. He doesn't mean to do it but. It does seem that way. I just have to tell him to try to tell me in (cpdummy) lol
By the way I can not wait to se your new bby I loves all the lil baby pics.:luvu: there all cute and all look different. :)

Yes it could get lost in the language barrier and I understand that but like I said, I am new to this.

You may not feel it is mean but put your self in her shoes. Yes say what the yorkie standard is but to tell her that it is NOT a yorkie And not even see a picture is very upsetting. also the pup is coming from family. Would you want someone makeing it look like your family is lieing? really I wouldn't I felt for her and wanted to know that I was there for her.

to answer her original question!!!

I have a male and female... My male was MUCH easier to train than the female! Don't get me wrong..i love them both but Karlee is a little over a year old and still is not 100% housebroke..Bentley on the other hand has been since he was 6 months old. He is also alot calmer! My girl is full of energy and give lots of kisses! hope that helps!
