i am interested in breeding in the future...not for profit but for love. i bought a

for my hubby for his b-day this past may and have absolutely fell in love. in retrospect she is not perfect but she is perfect for me and mine. i would like to breed her in her second heat (i have learned lots of info from this site) i don't want people to think i am a careless backyard breeder. i have money set aside for emergencies and add to it monthly. my mom and granmother plus a few aunts would like a puppy from mine and i am clueless as to how to do it. i have bred my chi in the past so i know some things but you can never know enough so please help. thank you all for your help.

It sounds like you are on the right track.It is alot of work and requires alot of time and care. My advice would be to find a breeder near you that can educate and if needed help you when the time comes. I can't help you much as I am just like you and am learning everything I can about breeding. Here is a great site to start off with. It tells you soooo much about the entire breeding process and it is really helpful and many have used the information and I know I will!! http://www.debbiejensen.com/

thanks for the link to that website-i fell in love with Lolly-so adorable!!! I am debating on buying my own boy dog-for me since whiskey was my hubby's present-or obtaining a stud. i have two friends who have boys that are beautiful and both weigh under four lbs. and are akc registered but still am clueless. they both wanted pick of the litter but what if she only has one?etc.etc.??? i wouldn't mind getting my own but have read stories about them marking if not neutered. i think i'm going in cirlces here but surely someone has been in this same situation? I'd appreciate all info. and thanks again MyTrixie143!!!

I like to own my own males. It is so much easier in my opinion and you don't have to keep paying stud fees or pick of the litter. Males can mark whether they are neutered or not neutered, it really varies by each dog. I even know some people who have males that were bred before and still don't mark, it is really different for each dog. I just put bellybands on mine, problem solved. They don't mark or can't mark with them on, they are inexpensive and easy to use and some of them are really cute. Everybody feels differently, this is just how I feel.

I prefer to pay stud fees this way I can choose what males I want as sire for my future puppies .

i have the same dilema
My dad has a female yorkie and we want to breed her for her second heat we have some money for any emergency and would be only one time so me and my sister both in our 50's and living alone could get two puppies..
i have been reading about the breeding process i don't want people to think i am a careless backyard breeder. i have money set aside for emergencies and add to it monthly still im kind of clueless in how to obtain a stud or a breeder ...
any help would be greatly apreciated
