| Wow, yorkies are FAST! I have to laugh whenever I see Jake walking in a hurry because his little legs are moving so fast to go short distances, he's so cute. And, sometimes he jumps around like a little bunny. Sometimes when we're playing, he gets really excited and rambunctious (sp?) and starts running around, and it makes me so nervous because I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself. He's FAST!!! I usually try to distract him with a toy or pick him up (if I can catch him) to try to get him to settle down a bit. Is there anything else I should be doing because I'm afraid he's going to run into something and get hurt. How do you get your yorkies to slow down and not run so fast? |

| I know what you mean -- when my Bichon was a pup - and it was snowy and slick outside --- my deck would be a sheet of ice.... and I'd see him running toward it 100 miles an hour and try to stop him and slow him down - but it never worked. He take a flying leap up onto the deck and slide about 15 feet across the deck and slam into the door every time! And my Yorkie also hops around like a little bunny - how cute! And, it's amazing how fast he can go - because his legs are short too. Carol Jean |

| that is what maggie does. she runs and pretty much keeps up with kizzy and kizzy is probably 4 times the of herand her legs are a lot longer. maggie barely has legs. she hops sometimes and looks so cute. But when she runs and gets excited or trying to hurry yet looking around for me her butt shakes and she is so cute when she does that.

| Mine are all really fast runners. They love to run and I love watching them run. Trixie will actually intimidate or provoke one of them to chase her. She stares them down and then they are off running. She is the fastest of the all and she knows no one can catch her and it is just her favorite game. She is like a blur when she goes by. She will try to get anyone to chase her and she has not met a dog yet that was faster than her. It really is amazing how fast these little guys can go.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I know whatcha mean!! Stedman too. He will run so fast from the living room into the kitchen to chase after the cat and when he hits the kitchen he hauls major booty around the island in the kitchen and slides across the floor like Tom Cruise in Foot Loose! LOL. He makes my hubby and I so dang nervous sometimes. Sheesh! Yorkies, I tell ya!

| You can try to teach him stop. I had to do that with Bella. she loves playing with kids and will try to get out the gate to play with them. Half the time I have to have the leash on the girls so I can take them to go potty when people are out side. They listen to me when I give a firm stop but still try to do it a few time later. HOPEING I dont remember what they where trying to do |

| Dezi does the same thing. I am also afraid she will get hurt, but I can't catch her. I just sit on the floor and wait for her to calm down. |
