I finally made Lady's Spay Appt. Ok, I finally made Lady's appt. to get spayed....the vet had wanted to wait until she was over 5 pounds and till most of her teeth fell out....so I took her Friday to the vet had the blood taken (everything is fine ) but the vet said that she has to stay overnight there and I even was trying to convince her to let me take her home that night but it wasn;t working....I'm so nervous about the surgery to begin with and now on top of it shes going to be away from me for the night, she has never been away from me for more then a few hours...the appt in on the 14th (almost a week away).....how many of you had to leave your little one over night? and how'd you get throught it.....I get a knot in my stomach just thinking about it. Shes going to be so lonely and scared all alone over night. I feel so horrible and guilty doing this to her.

My vet wanted to keep Misha also. I asked if they would have someone there all night, they replied NO. So I insisted on taking her home, that I would tend to her. They finally agreed after me bringing up, that if no one was there overnight & if something should happen, I'm now signing anything about not suing. I picked her up just minutes before closing. She was real groggy, & her eyes out of it. I'm sure thats what they didn't want me to see. I blew up a blow up bed for the floor & slept there with her. Gave her pain meds, and she was fine. I'm so glad I brought her home. It was hard enough just dropping her off, I was crying. I wasn't going to let her stay with no supervision.

Thats exactly what they told me that no one was going to be there overnight with her....and i was thinking about suggesting that I wait until closing to pick her up and then since the DR said she want'd to check her in the morning that maybe I could bring her back....I have all intentions on sleeping on the floor next to her crate when I tought I'd be able to bring her home and I already took off the next day from work....maybe I should try talking to the Dr. about it again...Thank you

I think I might give her a call this weekend...I just will be a lot more comfortable knowing that if theres a problem at least I can get her somewhere in time, if she has a problem there no one will know until morning and what if its too late....I will be a nervous wreck all night worrying about her...

I went thought this when Jager (my cat) got neutered....I slept on the floor with him the whole night just to make sure he was ok....I had it all planned to stay with her, she sleeps in a crate, so I know she'll be kept quiet, and I'll just sleep next to the crate (yeah I know I wont be sleeping) so I know shes ok....I'm going to try again and convince the vet and I;ll also tell her I'll bring Lady back in in the morning so she can check on the stiches like she told me....thank you sooo much for your help pipersmommy, I really apperciate it.
