| weight.... I have a 3 month old (13 weeks) puppy, i named her precious! I am new to the yorkie world but i have 3 other babies, golden, border collie, chihuahua! I have taken everyone advice and brought some karo, and Nutri-Cal. She eats and great, she uses wee wee pads but will not have a bm on the pads she wants to go out side and do the bm business! I have questions about her weight!! I took her to the vet to get her 3rd shots and she weighed a whoping 3.6 pounds! But the breeder said she was 1.8 at 8 weeks and there is no way she could be the weight that my vet said. What are you all experiences with the weight situation? I will post the email that my breeder sent me after i asked about the weight situation! I will never not want her because of her weight, as you can see i have assorted of weighty furball babies around my house! __________________

| My advice would be to not worry about your pup's weight. There are various weight charts on this site, but each pup is an individual. I met both of my Howie's parents and the mom is 5 lbs and the dad is a little smaller and Howie is almost 9 lbs at 6 months!!! Just enjoy your new puppy and be happy that she is a healthy eater!!

| Do you have a fenced yard? Why not let your yorkie go outside if that's what she wants? Mine loves to be outside. Most yorkies do. That's the terrier in them.

| Kizzy weighed exactly 1 lb at 6 weeks. but at 13 weeks she weighed I think 3 1/2 lbs, I was shocked also. she is almost 7 months now and weighed 8 lbs a couple weeks ago. She doesnt seem to be getting any bigger but if she gained a few more lbs I wouldnt care as she has a long body. So what is to be, will be. what aint to be just might happen. lol. Her breeder said she would be maybe 4 lbs grown. too funny.

| When I went to the vets I had to ask them to us a pediatrics (infant/baby) scale to weigh her. If they used the big dog scale her weight was always off, and always more than she really weighed. |

| As long as your dog isn't roly poly what they weigh is their proper weight. I don't know about other breeds but it seems like there is no definite formula for seeing how big they will be when they're done growing. All you can do is wait and see. Some of them are done growing very young and some have had sudden spurts at almost a year old. You never know for sure. |
