Chloe used to hate it. It was a fight and my book said: If they disagree, don't give up because then they think to do that all the time. So I sit with one of her Pedegree Training treats (which is why I love these soft things) cut into 8 pieces. I comb the bottom first with a real persons tangle comb, starting at the roots and working my way up. Only 8 minutes top to start. The following week I would increase the amount of time and so on. Each time she got fussy, I put the little pea sized treat to her lips and let her have that tiny taste. Within a month she was jumping up to get brushed. Now they stand in line for it, well.... I think they stand in line for that treat not the brushing but it works for us

Yeah, I do a lot of talking to CHloe & Sissy. Chloe acts like she understands, meanwhile Sissy looks at me like I am nuts. I say Mom will be easy, Mom will be easy, all the way through Chloe's long coat & her underarms. I say the same to Sissy, she is short but she is a sissy (no pun intedned) I do not think Sissy was handled like Chloe was in her first 3 months. So Sissy is a bit skiddish about touching still (not for long) I also sing to them. A soothing voice goes a long way, and never ever brush in a hurry, make it a relaxing bonding experience. I cut nails for my very first time today!!! Hooray It went well. Sissy taught Chloe how to sit & take it like a Yorkie. Chloe used to scream (sounding like a child) I just did the very tips. The Mgr of PetSmart that taught me said just do tips every week until I get the hang When I get time, I am going to take a grooming class but learn only to groom Yorkie's - no one else

| I started mine the day they came home. At first they both hated the brush and would constantly bite the brush so I started to cut their treats into little pieces and give it to them while brushing them and also praise them while doing it. Now they love being brush! I was just brushing them and they both just sat there like...its my turn! Timmy tolerates it but Mimi loves it...she loves it so much that she falls asleep everytime I brush her. She looks so funny because she sits down but her head goes down down down...lol Now I don't have to give them treats while brushing. I do give them one after I brush them and tell them how good they were.... Just keep brushing her...she will eventually get used to it. |

Just remember to start at the ends, It didn't make sense to me when someone told me that but try it and you'll see if you start at the ends and work your way up, you won't pull on those knots. You can do it

| How old is your dog? This takes time. Rosie hated being brushed too. I used to put her in the corner of the room. She would scream like it was the end of the world when I tried to brush her. Then she would find her way out and run away. Then my sister would help me corner her and Rosie still found her way out. I thought she would never get used to it, but now she almost falls asleep when I brush her because she loves it so much. We gave her treats for good behavior. At first we gave her a treat for every other stroke that she would not scream. Then we would give her a treat every 4 strokes. We kept doing that until she was fine with it. Also, we brushed her every day until she was used to it. |

| Howie likes to try to eat the brush when I'm doing it. So I bought another brush and I let him chew on it when I brush his hair.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Brushing our furbabies Stedman doesn't really like to be brushed, no. He's not TOTALLY bad or anything (EXCEPT when it comes to me trying to brush his face hair, OMG! ) but he doesn't like it. When I do go to brush his hair, I just speak very firmly to him and say, "NO STEDMAN, YOU HAVE TO BE STILL!" and usually when I use my "firm voice", he calms down
