I've found that when anyone wants to pet Howie they always ask first.. as if i'm really going to say NO. He's such a ham and loves the attention! |

Little kids always ask me. I think that's because when your a kid, your parents say "dont pet strange dogs", cuz you never know. I always let them too. Adults just pet him, which I don't mind...but they DONT have to pick him up!!!! |

My Chizzie gets the same remarks. She is big boned, very muscular and is sporting a nice thick layer of FAT. So at 9 lbs. she is the brunt of the big jokes -- for kicks, I take her and her Peppy (who is 3 1/2 lbs.) out together. So I get both the BIG comments and the little comments. :D I have come to realize that a lot of people are envious of us for owning Yorkies. There are so many wannabees out there that simply can't afford them. It is like a thoroughbred horse person seeing someone who has a Kentucky Derby winner. :sickie: Jealousy :sickie: in some cases, an in other cases people just wanting to communicate with "a person who owns a Yorkie". In their effors to sound intelligent, they show their ignorance. I have learned it is best to smile, and say would you like to pet them? |
I think people say things before they think.....kinda pops out! I have been guilty of doing this! SO I think Im more tolerant most of the time. Ive thought "Ugh why did I say that!" Sure sounded better in my mind then thru my mouth! I have an enormous son at 2yrs. He towers above most kids and he is built like a line backer. Hes very chubby too! I could count the number of times I have went into public with him that someone DID NOT comment on his size. Some comments are cute! Such as an older man kinda pinchng at his cheek and saying to his wife "Now isnt he a Buster!?" But I have also had people say "Heavens that is the biggest kid I have ever seen!" Once one lady asked me "If he is okay?" .................lol............I smiled and said yes he is okay. I myself wondered because of his size and had him tested by specialist! So I understand the comments, and yes some of them sound quite rude! He is just a baby so Im tolerant right now, but when he gets older and understands I might have to have a different reaction:p One day IM sure when he is older people will not comment so freely! He is estimated to be an enormous person, his weight and height do not even graft on a doctors pediatric normal growth chart. Where am I going to buy clothes!!!!!!!! Anyway, my yorkies will never understand the "big comments" so Ill just smile at the ignorant comments sometimes made! Just consider yourself more educated then the other guy and you can smurk under your breath of your vast intelligence!!!:D :) ;) |

This is completely off topic.....but I would LOVE to see a picture of your son! Who knows....maybe he'll wind up playing for the NBA or NFL. And you'll have your rich son buying you LOTS of yorkies in your beautiful mansion. :p :p |

Sure you can see a picture of my son. Sorry I dont have a full body on here to give you the full effect. He is with his 4 yr old sister here, she is tall for her age herself. Seeing the size difference in their heads and his "bear paw hands" would give you an idea though! He wears a size 12 shoe, almost 13, they are getting short. To bring it kinda on topic "if he was a yorkie he would be VERY large one......."....haha and I also included him with a yorkie puppy. He likes to kiss them. But I have to watch him with an eagle eye when I let him try to interact. Like you would any 2 yr old. He turned two in May. |
