| Hells Angel/Angel From Heaven I don't post alot, but love this group. I got my first Yorkie 16 mos. ago. She just turned four. I know this sounds dumb, but I love her so much and if something ever happens to her, I think it will kill me. Not only does she bring me so much love and happiness, she adds to my aging parents' everyday lives as well. I am just wondering - are all Yorkies so docile and loving? My Sadie does not like rough housing of any kind, does not care what you do to her as long as she is not home alone. This Kid will let me clothe her (which I do for short periods of time during special holidays as my family gets so much joy out of seeing her dressed up), bathe her, brush her, whatever. She is such a good sport, and is all girl. She will lay on anyone's lap, give puppy kisses, and just eat up any and all affection. Since this is my first Yorkie, tell me, are they all this delicate and lovable? I love her easy going nature, and she is just a pure joy to watch while she sleeps, etc. Do any of you have little terrors, tomboys, etc.? I know this probably sounds a bit sappy, but I just got through reading all the posts in the RIP section, and my eyes are teary. My heart goes out to all of you who have lost your Furbabies. Thanks. Kate

I know what you mean about the puppy kisses. If I don't get up, and Sadie wants to get up, she will take her paw and gently put it on my face.

| Hi! From reading here, it does sound like all yorkies are different. I'm so lucky that I ended up with two little girls who love everyone, are never nervous or aggressive, willingly put up with baths and brushing, don't mind being dressed, etc. But they have their stinky little moments as well! And as I type, they are in there having a mad wrestling match. I have a feeling that no matter WHAT qualities your yorkie does/doesn't have, you still find enough positive to think they're just about "perfect". Again....that just comes from reading the board here.

| Well, my Sadie is a combination of: cuddlebug, tomboy, holy terror (but too cute to stay mad at), and sweetheart. I just love that little girl to pieces, though sometimes she can be brat! She'll be two in October, but I've said that she's been in the terrible twos for a while now. But she's my baby girl! In the mornings, I always say "Good Morning, Sunshine" and she will crawl up my body (in bed) and lay on my chest & give me morning kisses. It's the sweetest thing ever!

| Your post was so touching. Shortly after I got Muffin, I read somewhere that yorkies were almost human. Well, I'm here to tell you they were right about that! I'm so glad she brings such joy to you. You were speaking about your parents. It's true. Elderly people and yorkies were made for each other I think. Yorkies seem to thrive in the constancy of companionship they provide and the quietness and calmness of their lifestyles and their dispositions. I'm glad you like this group. Some yorkies are calm and some are wild as can be. My Muffin was a ball of energy all of her life and was so much fun. My Kacee is calm and easy-going, but still loves to play and romp around and run like the wind. Their personalities are just like people and just as varied.

| Ahhhhhh that's a nice story. She sounds like a love. There is something very special about the Yorkie. I feel they are almost child like. Buddy is lovable giving kisses all the time. He is such a good boy. He wants kisses from me when he gets hurt or when I am talking with another dog owner just like a child wanting only their mothers attention. He grumbbles to me when I ignore him trying to get me to pay attention to him. I swear if he could talk there would be no shutting him up! I find the breed extremely intelligent. |

I just got back from a short two-day trip to my Great Niece's birthday party. There were 28 relatives there, and you are right they are smart. In order for her to feel safe, it my parents or I had our laps filled with photos, food, etc., she would jump up on somebody else's lap to feel safe. This way she knew nobody would step on her. She loves everyone, especially children.

She knows the words: potty, bye bye (she races for the car and immediately jumps into her car seat), walk, eat, treat, Grandma and Grandpa. I wish she knew waht "No" meant. LOL But, for some reason that does not bother me.

Mornings are my fav. time with Sadie. She is very affectionate, but when it is time to go bed later at night, she doesn't want anything to do with me.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Awww, I LOVED your post!! Awww Kate, your post was SO sweet. I could just feel the love you have for your little one while reading your post. You sound like such a sweetheart and what a lucky little one you have for her to be in such a LOVING home. Our wonderful little babies just don't realize how lucky they are But even more so, I don't think we realize how lucky WE are to have THEM Your darling little baby sounds like a total angel! I love my little guy as well, more than words can say, and -LITERALLY- each and every day, I feel my love for him grow even STRONGER! As for my Stedman being "lovey"...he definitely is, but on HIS own time, lol. 90% of the time he is a little MESS and IT SHOWS!! He will cuddle, when HE wants to cuddle...not when mommy or daddy ASK him to cuddle Sometimes when we try to get him to cuddle with us, and he won't have any of it...then 2 minutes later he will run over to us and snuggle us up to pieces. It's almost like he's saying, "haha momma and daddy, ya can't tell me when it's time to cuddle! I cuddle on my own time!" Lets just say that Stedman is 3 lbs full of nothing but HIS OWN PERSONALITY lol

| Your Sadie is a sweetie. IMO the Yorkie breed does seem to have such loving personalities that they become like our children -- most of the time little angels with a little pitch of rotten if they can get away with it. I always tell friends that my pooches are my kids only they don't ever talk back and they always love me, no matter what. Gotta love em.
