| Gotta tell you what Lucy did! AFter work this evening I decided to grill on the back deck. I don't have grass in the backyard yet because of trees being cleared so I put a barrier across the steps to keep Lucy on the deck. She was fine playing there while my son and I talked and grilled. We played with her a couple of minutes and got distracted by the grill. I looked around and she was gone! About that time we heard a racket and looked in the yard.......Lucy was CHASING a rooster that belongs to the guy next door. ( He lets them all run loose!) Not only was it a rooster---he was the king of the pack. The BIGGEST one the guy has. Lucy was running for all she was worth and looked like a professional quarterback trying to run the ball up the middle! She's got MOVES. We took off down the steps after her and the little hussy had the rooster CORNERED beside the house. Then she didn't know what to do with him. I was terrified the rooster would peck her eyes out and grabbed her up about the time the rooster flew up in my face. I took Lucy back up on the deck and hugged her, then scolded her. She looked at me with this innocent look like "What did I do"? She's still looking out the french doors hunting that bird and we ate burned ribs! Kim & Lucy (the great hunter!) |

| Aren't they full of antics? The thing about yorkies is that you never know what they'll be into next! I took Muffin out into the yard at night when she was a puppy and after awhile she started barking and carrying on. I looked over and there halfway under the fence was an oppossum frozen. I was scared to death she'd get in his face and get hurt or worse, but she was having such a fit and running back and forth in her yard that I couldn't catch her! I was finally able to grab her, but it took quite awhile. Yorkies will age you. I'm certain of it!

| Wow, Lucy sure is brave. Atleast if there are ever any renegade roosters on the loose you will be safe. Seriously though, can't roosters spur you or something?

| devoted to Lucy! Quote:
Yes, they can! That's why I was so scared. I could just see her losing an eye or something and I've been unbelievably lucky with her healthwise. I'm getting a baby gate for the back deck tomorrow and it's going up first thing. Every time we go out now she heads for the part of the yard next to the neighbor's house trying to see the chickens. Goofy dog! Kim & Lucy | |
