| ![]() I'm writing this as I'm still shaking....... I took Louie and Elle out to go potty. It is barely sprinkling, but overall pretty nice night. So my daughter and her lil girlfriend are out riding bikes. By the way, one side of our house is against an alley that leads to an elementary school, so traffic can sometimes be hectic. So we hear my daughter and her friend come racing down the alley and all of a sudden Louie goes crazy and runs for the fence and Elle goes crazy as well and runs UNDER the fence!!!!! OH NO!!!!!! I scream. I am panicking yelling for my daughter to run after her before this car driving down the alley gets much closer. So my daughter runs after her and she runs from her. I'm in total panic mode now. The car gets closer and closer and Elle is running all over the place scared as heck. She is cowarying down cause she is scared from us yelling but she wont settle down for us to grab her. Then finally she found a spot to run back under the fence, into the backyard. Phewwww.... boy was I releaved. I picked her up and held onto her soooo tight telling her over and over again how much I loved her. That was way to close for me. My husband's duty tomm morning is to make sure there is something in front of those high spots in the fence.

| ![]() I'm so glad this was a happy ending. These little ones can get through the smallest of holes. I'm still trying to make sure that I got them all. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() They're fast little Suckers - Cheri did the same thing to me and I was like Superman jumping the fence - I about put myself in the hospital - but they can really move - and don't normally know how to come back the same way - so off you go.... That was a close call and glad it came out ok. I bet you were practically hyperventillating - If that happens again - next time try to stop the CAR before trying to get the yorkie....if the car is going slow enough you can get them to just stop and then get her without worrying about both of you getting hit. I had to do that with my cocker - waved my arms around like a maniac and made 2 cars stop so I could get her. |

She also finds places to squeeze under the fence. I have many spots with items blocking her access, but she seems to keep finding more!!

| ![]() I'm glad everything turned out o.k! We're facing a similar issue with our front deck. We're rebuilding the railing and installing new lattice...the boys will have a grassy area off of the deck with a fence that matches the deck railing so they can have full run of the deck and the grassy area. The issue is they're so danged small that I'm afraid they can slip out under the bottom rail so we're going to design something to install under there that will keep them in but still allow us to sweep or hose off the deck when needed. I've already decided if they can get out through the lattice I'll put screen behind it! By the way, Yorkieguru...can I ask where in Illinois you are? |

| ![]() I'm glad she's OK and got back intime!!! Make sure to cover the fence hole up ASAP!!! If it happenes again (hopefully it doesn't though), try not to panic, or atleast don't show her your panicing. If your all excited, she will probably get excited too and keep running around. |

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | ![]() *whew!* indeed. I am so thankful this had a happy ending! Yes, our little ones can be super fast. On the rare occasion I let Abigail out in the back yard (I'm always with her, and it's fenced), she gets to going 90miles an hour and I look like somebody's fool trying to catch her when it's time to go in! btw, the reason she can't play in her own backyard is because I've yet to find a way to keep neighboring cats out. They come over the fence to poooooo in MY yard! And, it seems cat poo in not on Abbie's list of things NOT to eat! <gack> Yes, I'm still steamed about the cat situation.
