| Advice Needed Hello: This is my first visit to YT, I'm excited to have found your forum and hope to frequent it often in the future. I'm in need of advice however at this time. I have a Yorkie girl whom if just over 1 1/2 yrs and recent I brought home a yorkie boy, he is just under 5 months. They get along great most of the time except for when they fight over the raw hide bones laying around, it seems they always want to same one. I've also notcied that when Mia is laying next to me if hunter trys to come up and get love she snaps at him, as to say "get away from my mommy" I've tried cuddeling them at the same time but it is a challenge. Last night I left for a few minutes and my sister was upstaris giving my nephew a bath when she heard the dogs going at it, but this time it was not just a quick snap or bark she actually got a hold of him enough to draw blood from his nose and sprain his front ankel. I know its a sprain becasue we already went to the vet this am and got x-rays. I guess my question is for those who have mioxed sex yorkies at home have you noticed any tension or jelousey between the two, if so how did you handle it? ANy suggestions as to why she is attacking him now after 3 months, or maybe she isn't, I saw her hovering over him as if she was trying to mount him, is she just aggresively in heat??? I don't know what to think. Thanks for any advise or help you can offer. Teresa |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Hi Teresa and welcome to YT!!! so your female is not spayed? sounds to me like she may be going in heat and thats why the fighting, but not sure so hopefully someone who has 2 of oppisent sex will come along and answer your question. I have a 5 mon old female and a 60 pound Husky and when Lillie my york has her bullystix my husky will want to chew on it as well, no matter if they both have one or not, but the good thing is, they take turns, and I have not had any problems with them fighting over it. Good luck to you! |

| Welcome! I have a male and a female and dont have those type of problems. My two will fight over the same bone but it is playful fighting. One thing I do is the yorkie I had 1st Chachi is always first. Iff I am petting them Chachi always gets petted 1st. If I am giving them treats Chachi always get his first and so on. Both of mine are spayed and neutered so I dont know if that could also be playing a factor. Your female is definitely the alpha. Are you planning on breeding her or why havent you gotten her spayed?

| Advice I am planning on breeding them together. As long as the disagreements do not continue. I plan to let nature take it's course if it happens it happens. My vet said she will be the dominate one until my male gets older and as long as he allows it but there is a chance he will take over as the dominate dog in the house hold. |
