When Josie is Returned... Because I truly believe she will be, I really do hope that you and your husband give that boy the reward.....

I know, I know.... What?? Reward the boy who gave her dog away??? Am I kidding??? NO! It took Balls for that boy to admit what happened... Had he not come forward... Where would you be??? He had to seriously have thought about how upset you all would be that he gave your dog away! But still called you! And if this child, teenager, young adult, whatever... lives on your street.... all the more reason to follow through with the reward. If you don't... he may NEVER go out on a limb again... and certainly not for you guys, God forbid you need his help ever again. And he will tell all of his friends how bogus the whole deal was! Which will jade them as well... Or he can be rewarded for doing the "right" thing and he can tell all of his buddies what great people you guys are and you'll have that story circulate through the neighborhood.... Your neighbors should know your dog... and after this... they will from the flyers... Hopefully! And if she ever gets out again.. they should bring her straight home! You know this boy will if he is left feeling good about it all... When its all over.... He needs a big thank you... No matter what his attitude... Kids get defensive! And no matter what his initial actions caused.... He called... and for that he needs to be rewarded...

I agree... She asked for money in exchange for the return for your dog... That is a crime.... You could press charges... like now!

I'd contact the police again and inform them of the latest delopment! They should arrest her and remove your dog from her custody ASAP just based on her threats and demands....

Well, if I understand the story right, the kid that called is not the brother of the person that has Josie now. It's a friend of his...or someone he knows. I think that THAT kid deserves some of the reward money. Because once he realized whose dog it was, he did do the right thing. But this woman has no right to be demanding money for her brother. SHe has no right to be demading anything. She's just lucky her butt is not sitting in jail right now. I don't know how I'd feel about giving that kid money...maybe, maybe not. But I do think so for the first kid.

She cannot make you give her a reward for the dog. You could file charges against her and that's exactly what I would do. She has your dog and you have pictures to prove it! :mad:

The First boy, who found Josie lives a few blocks away. He called and gave us information. Without him...we would not know anything. YES, He will have the reward. Period.

The Girl is requesting we give her brother money. This boy,is the second boy who Josie was given to. (Took Josie to his town, 45 minutes away) I'm pretty sure we won't be giving him something.

Hubby just called the Girls husband's cell, the call went went straight to Voicemail with no option to leave a message. *sigh*

Josie will be microchipped as soon as we get her back...

I'm confused...what is the lady's husband *supposed* to be doing? Bringing him to you? Did he say that? How exactly have they told you they will be returning her?

On the flip side of this, after he receives a monetary reward, it could encourage him in a bad way. Let's keep an open mind about this...he could see this as a business opportunity. I've heard about it happening...you give someone a monetary reward. They start stealing people's dogs and wait to see if a reward is offered and then this person finds the dog and collects the money.

Maybe instead of a monetary reward, you could take him out to dinner...:confused:

Any plans to further involve the police.... I would be afraid that she might send Josie to live with a friend and say that she "ran away" till this all blows over just so she can keep her! The waiting.... the voicemail.... Why Cant the SB Police just go get her??

I'm glad Josie has been found. I will continue to pray that these crazy people bring her back. Cant wait til she is HOME!!

The lady/ Girl said her Husband would be driving Josie back to us today. My Hubby, OFFERED MANY TIMES to go personally and pick her up. At first the girl had said no, because she was comming down on this weekend. She said she could bring her then. WE SAID, NO. They needed to bring her ASAP. Which was this morning.

If I don't have her by 1pm (that is our cut-off) The Police will be strictly involved from there on.

First Kid. NO I wouldn't give anything but a talk to

HE GAVE AWAY a dog that wasn't his. period. no placing of signs or looking for the owners. nothing nada zip. the trail wasn't even cold before the little one was on her way to Santa Barabara. we found a beagle girl who just had puppies two weeks ago. the mintue I got her. We had start going door to door with signs {homemade } posting everywhere for her owners. and had called the police and pound to see if anyone was missing her. while my eldest daughter manned the phone. Coman sense and decency says a groomed dog is a loved dog. Unless she hit very brush and mud hole to his house and rolled in something dead. ten to one. she looked cared for. and should added up to missed horribley.


Moral of the story. Ms.Beagle went home the next day. while they were getting pizza,she followed her ever loving houndie nose to trouble and one block later to me.

{her puppies were fine by the by. they were trying to wean her off them. by giving her breaks as long as could be.}

reward na. just a $1.00 to replace my paper and I kept telling them no.

I know what you're saying. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, the world we live in has conditioned us to think otherwise. It is sad.

I'm so happy Josie has been found safe and I'm glad the police are involved. I agree that the boy that originally called should get a reward(enough to show your appreciation that he told you what he did, but not enough to make him think dognnapping is a wise career choice). Hopefully, you or the police can press charges so this lady will never try to do this to anyone else. She can't be a true dog-lover if she thinks keeping Josie from her real family is the right thing to do. What a total JERK! Nail her to the wall!!!! She should pay you for all the stress and heartache she's put you and your family through. I'm done now-I'm so mad I have to go clean my house!

I'm sitting here on pins and needles. I have so much to do and I can't stop refreshing this page to see if she is back home yet. Sending you many hugs!!!!
