| Worst Day of Stewie's Life Ok I am really worked up right now... Stewie was running around about 80mph yesterday in my mom's living room and ran smack dab into the coffee table. He screamed and fell backward onto his back. He seemed ok... I tried to keep him awake. He ate about an hour afterward, but did not run around anymore, even when my family tried to play with him. THEN We were in my car driving to my boyfriend's house. Stewie was in his carrier strapped into the front seat. Sometimes if I am going a longer distance, I open the side about halfway so he can stick his head out -- especially if the windows are open. He loves it. So I am driving down the expressway in the left lane doing about 5 over the speed limit. There is a semi trailer truck in the right lane that was going waaay too fast and was weaving in and out of traffic. I tried to speed up a bit to get away from him and he comes into my lane. I am dead center in the middle of his truck. I slam EXTREMELY hard on the brakes while I am being run off the road onto the shoulder. Stewie's carrier flies over the seat belt that was securing it and he hits his little head on the dashboard HARD. I am hysterical at this point as I just saw my life and his life flash before my eyes. He was shaken up. His heart was beating very fast, but he seemed ok. I called 911 and reported the truck. It didn't have any markings or company or phone #s on it though. When we got to my bf's house he was running around (more slowly than usual) and went to sleep. He seems sluggish, but maybe I am just being paranoid. We have a vet appt this week for a check-up and a shot. If he seems ok I am just going to wait until then to see her. BAD DAY!

| The moral of the story for me was to start keeping him in the backseat or make a special seat belt for his carrier so I don't end up killing him. :'( I'll definitely let everyone know what happens. It just amazed me that he slipped out of the carrier so quickly and everything happened so FAST I coudln't grab him.

| Poor Stewie and Mom. Wrecking with my babies in the car is my greatest fear. Glad you are all right. I'm sure the vet will say he is fine when he sees him. You would know if something was wrong........mommies always do.... |

| Gosh, that is terrible! At least you had him in his carrier and even though he came out, he probably would have hit harder had he not been in a carrier at all! Poor little buddy

| Brownie's Mom - I never let him put his head out (plus he's too small to get up that high) He stays in his carrier & I just unzip it a bit so he can see out and it doesn't seem like jail. My Lab used to get mad at me because I wouldn't let her stick her head out either
