| What did you all pay for your yorkie? I know some of you may consider this a personal question, so I'm sorry. I've just seen such an array of prices & was curious how it averaged out. I'll be the first to admit that I paid more than I probably should have. I did find breeders with less expensive yorkies, but I really liked the breeder that I got mine from, so I spent the money. Snickers was $2000.00. He had a sister that was $2500 and a tiny sister that was $3000. The breeder said that the only reason she was selling the tiny one for so much was b/c she only wanted someone who was really serious & it was ultimately sold to a 2nd time buyer. The mother was 6lbs & the father was 4.5lbs. She told me that Snickers & the other sister would be about 6lbs & the tiny one she hoped would get to 3 or 3.5 lbs. She advised that her prices were a bit higher also b/c the dad & grandfather were champions, which didn't matter to me b/c I only wanted a pet......but I fell in love with him. |

| I paid $850 for Hobbs and $900 for Hootie. They are brother and sister (Hootie is from a subsequent litter) from the same breeder. She was selling Hootie for the same as Hobbs, but I gave her $50 extra for saving her for me I "reserved" her before she was even born and the breeder never made me pay a deposit or anything. Both of them are AKC registered. Here is another thread that was started a little while ago about this same subject. It has a lot of good info. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...hlight=%243000 |

| I didn't pay a single penny for my Peanut. I found him on the side of the road. I did all efforts to try and find his owner but after 3 weeks, and not even a single call, I planned on finding him a good home. But he had already become part of the family and got along really well with my two pits (they became best friends instantly). I decided to keep him. Although he's the most expensive free thing ever. | I paid: $1,000 for Codie (Maltese) $1,200 for Katie (Yorkie) $1,600 for Tia (Yorkie) But I would have paid more to get my babies -- it was love at first sight with all 3 of them.
