| Slugs!!!! I have something gross to ask. For some reason we have slugs really bad in our back yard. Now that Tinkerbell's hair is starting to get long and her tummy is so close to the ground, every night when I take Tinkerbell out to potty she gets these little baby slugs in her hair. It is soooo gross. I have to comb them out because they get all matted up in her hair. I'm sure I can't put snail/slug pellets out because she would eat them. Does anyone know of a slug killer that is more natural and wouldn't harm dogs? SHe also likes to eat slugs so I need to get rid of them for that reason too. That's just too much for me. |

| Slugs Sometimes I feel everyone is watching because my questions tend to be asked by someone else. It is so gross. Isn't it? I put Frankie out 2 nights ago and when he came in he was in a panic mode with his paws. I got the flashlight out and he had little slugs (curled up) on him. It grossed me out. My boyfriend thought they were stinging him but I don't think so. I think they were just funky. Were yours curled up? Extended they were about 1/2 inch. I thought they were fat ticks. Frankie also tried eating one.

| Actully if you put beer in a shallow dish and lay them out in several spot the slugs will climb in to drink the beer and then drown. It is easy, cheap and wont hurt your puppy. (former washington resident, and boy we had BIG slugs!!)

| I'm going to try the beer thing next time it rains here - Tia had the SAME thing happen - slugs in her hair and they were awful to get out

| Set beer out in a tin pie plate. The slugs will drown. |

| OH Thank you for this suggestion! I have heard about beer before but had forgotton about it. I will hate to see the dish after the first day! SLUG STEW!!! These are just like a quarter of an inch long so I don't even see them and then I go to pet her and there's something gooey I have also experienced a giant earthworm completely meshed into my maltese's hair. That was the worst to get out! |

| When you put the beer out, try to set it into the ground so the edges are at ground level. I have done that the last couple of years and it DOES work, but didn't at first because the slugs wouldn't crawl up to get at it. I hate those slimy, creepy things! Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! |

| Gee, I am glad we don't have slugs here in Yuma, Arizona.... but we DO have black widows.... that's probably worse, considering those are poisonous.... |
