| I hate the rabies shot most of all. Go to www.naturalrearing.com and read the article section on rabies. I have read so much about it. It is the shot with the most reactions and doesn't even guarentee to protect. Also, there was never a scare among domestic animals to warrent making domestic animals get them...let along every 3 years which is dumb. No medical proof to show that they need boosters every 3 years. My last dog had a terrible reaction to that shot and it killed him eventually. I have friends who's dogs and cats have seizures which they believe to be the result of vax as well. |

| Goes right up our alley, we don't like to over vaccinate either. Rabies, that's it. |

| so why do the boarding places make you get all of the shots? they aren't getting paid for it (like the vet) so why would they care? great post, katia has an appt on weds for her one yr booster shots....we decided to go through with it since we have to board her later this month when we go on vacation. i hate to do it, just based on what i've read, but i guess i have to... |

| the boarding places ask for the shots for protection against people who would blame them for things that "could" happen. Many boarding places get scared but that still doesn't mean that boosters are needed. |

| Hello all, my puppies has had their 1st 2 puppy shots & they are due for their 1st adult shots later this month. So does these 1st adult shots contain the Lepto shot? I looked at Teddy & Tiffanie's and they got their Lepto @ 16 weeks. After reading these post on this I wonder if I should get them or not. Can U all help me know if I should or not...So far all the puppies are so good and I'd hate to do something to harm them. | I have been reading about over vaccination of our pets alot lately. Your post was extremely informative so I will not recount any of it for others. You did a great job yourself. Think about it, we vaccinate our children with several shots as infants and they never require yearly boosters? The immunity is to last their lifetimes. If you google or just do a general search you will find alot of information on this topic. They say we are causing cancers and shorter lives in our dogs and cats because we over vaccinate them. It is a very interesting topic to explore. I am considering not ever vaccinating my dogs again. It is a consideration I will make with much research. |

| I just got my litle male on Sat. I took him to my vet on tuesday. He said my the breeder did a great job on vacs but the 15 week one was un necesary, just 6, 9, & 12 week were neccesary, he wanted to give a 15 week rabbie shot and I said no way, no rabbie shot until 6 months old. But now ai think I will wait until 1 year old. and get the 3 year one. my dogs don't run free . they are in a pen awhen they go outside. mostly they are my house dogs, so what do they need?? I admit I"m confus ed. |

I know I will get slack from this, but from my experience and extensive reading, I feel like the rabies shot is the biggest joke out there. I dont' think it stops rabies and I think that it does more harm in our dog's bodies: siezures, tumors at the site of shot, tumors inside, etc. I hear and read this ALL the time. I'm glad your daughter is okay now!! I'm sorry that happened to her! suzie | |
