| I am glad Baby's alright!!!! It is always scary seeing them fall or tumble down the stairs. Scampers is having a problem himself when it comes to stairs. He can go up them with no problems at all. Going down them is a different story. Everytime he tries to go down them, he ends up tumbling or rolling down them. It scares me since he is only 5 pounds and I wonder if he will ever get the hang of it. So now I make sure I carry him downstairs, but it would still be nice for him to learn to go down the stairs by himself. I don't why he does this, whether his legs are just too short and small to go down stairs or what the problems is?? But when ever he tumbles down the stairs, it looks really bad. The first time really scared me!! He is fine each time I just wonder why he can't get the hang of it. I am sure as time goes by he will be able to go down stairs, but until then I am left worrying about him!!

| Ness fell down an entire flight of stairs - every step - and rolled into the wall at the bottom. He didn't cry out but had a sad tail and ran straight to me, he was completely okay though. I think he was two pounds at the time. Let me tell you, he has never once fallen down the stairs again! |

| I'm also glad to hear that your baby is okay! Those stairs can be tricky for our little guys. I also have hardwood floors/stairs and had to get a runner, a cheapy one from Home Depot, so my babies would have better "grip." It's a thin carpet with rubber on the back...kinda ugly...looks cheap...is cheap...but works great! We roll it up and put it away when guests come over but keep it down for everyday use. The only "pain" is the rug needs to straightened out every day. It's a cheap solution to a potentially costly price...one of my babies getting hurt!

| Stairs And More Stairs!!! Our 13 year old stays upstairs now by her choice but we are so thankful she has never broken a limb. ANd this is after countless times falling/rolling down the stairs we have in our split level house. Now we have a new addition and wondering when she will start attempting the stairs. PS: Our stairs are hard tile but a few years ago we had them carpeted. Our Yorkie rolled down them many times when they were all tile!!! Carpeting stairs is not expensive as one thinks. It is soooo much better then before and less wear and tear on the human knees also. Last edited by Candini; 01-08-2007 at 12:59 AM. |

| Pippa fell down our stairs twice over the xmas period, she had never done this before???!!! She is fine thank god! I have clipped the hair between her pads real real short and it hasnt happened since. I can only assume that is why she fell, by slipping on the stairs cause her hair on pads too long as we have lived here for 5 months with no problems, Maybe you could see if this may be the case for you too.I also have wooden stairs and it frightened me to death and i now carry Pippa when ever i go up or down (she follows me all the time...well you all know how it is)

| OMG, I'm so glad Baby is ok. We have 13 stairs going to the basement. Toto is such a "sissy" that I don't have to worry about him trying to go down stairs. Everything scares him.
