| What do you think? Google (as told to me by the breeder) is a purebred Yorkshire Terrier, gold and blue. However, the older he gets, his coloring makes me think he's actually a Silky Terrier, or at least part Silky. What do you think? I posted new photos of him over at http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48032 and the 1st pic really highlights his silver/blue coloring. |

| This is not a Silky Terrier . Some Yorkies tend to go paler when they mature . |

| Boy - he sure looks like a little Yorkie to me - he also looks small. Aren't Silkies usually larger than Yorkies.... And - by the way - his coloring is absolutely beautiful....... Carol Jean |

| He looks all yorkie to me. Just because his coloring is different does not mean that he is part silky. There are alot of yorkies that come in different sizes as well as ones that are different colors. If he was part silky or pure silky then he would have some of the other traits of a silky such as body structure, ears, skull, muzzle. Judging from the pictures, he does not have any other trait of a silky, he is all yorkie! Your boy is gorgeous, and I absolutely love his colors!!!!

| I don't know anything about silkies, but it sounds like you've gotten some good input from the others. I just have to tell you that I think your baby is gorgeous! When I originally saw your other post, it made me hope that mine would turn out that color (he's registered as blue & tan). |

| Kiki's mother was VERY blond/silver like that, and I'm thinking Kiki will likely end up the same. He's a doll!!!

| His coloring is gorgeous. Definitely "blue". I'm still not sure what "gold" is supposed to look like - is that what they call blond??

| Thanks everybody! My point of confusion was his coat, because he's purebred I had assumed that he would have a more "traditional" yorkie coloring about him--trust me, I'm not disappointed and would love him just as much even if he was GREEN! LOL His coat though, was what was the deciding factor as to neuter him or look into breeding him--since even though he's beautiful he's not what's "standard" by what I read when reaserching the breed, so I felt that to breed him--as beautiful as he is--would not better the breed. |

| Unfortunately no, I even contacted the breeder and asked for a picture, and never got a reply. I think these people are the kind of folks who just want to sell their "product" and don't care about what happens after. When I got Google I was ignorant about breeders and didn't know any better, so I feel guilty about how I got him but then again, I'm glad that I got HIM. I feel as though I saved him from what could have been a sad existence. |
