| If size doesn't matter... Then how come when someone posts about their puppy they always post the age and size? I know I've posted my babies size, but I see it really common w/ a lot of posts on here. I was just wondering if size doesn't matter to so many people, how come it's always mentioned on here, not including posts about size specifically. |

| I know why I post it if I'm asking about something like health, or what to feed Tila, I personally think I'm looking for something specific, so I ask for something specific. It's also a way to describe the dogs, just like how you describe people (hello NOT age and weight, but other things, like colour). I don't think it's like "oh my yorkie's better she weighs 4 lbs." it's like a description "4.4 lbs. black and tan, white head" etc. |

| To me "size doesn't matter" means we love our babies regardless if they are 3 pounds or 15 pounds. Many people here are first time yorkie owners and got our furbabies not having an idea how large or small they will get. Some wanted larger yorkies some wanted smaller but they all grew up and you love them so much "Size doesn't matter". I think we share the size of our kids cuz we sure can't tell from most of the pictures how big they are. I know I'm curious, same as when we ask about coat, sex, hair care, etc. It's just a way of bonding and getting to know each others babies. I got Jazzie from a pet store (which I will never do again) and so obviously never saw the parents. I just knew from reading books that the breed standard was 7 pounds or less. Well, she grew and grew and is 10 pounds and cuz I Love her so much "size doesn't matter".

| I don't think it matters, I think it is just how we identify them...like when you introduce yourself, you usually same something about yourself, like where you live or your age or something that identifies you with the group your with. So with yorkies or all dogs and even little kids, ages and weights are usually mentioned. Or maybe people say it, cause that is the first thing that is asked..."oh, how old is he/she, how big....least wise I think that is why people do it

| I guess most people put their Yorkie's size down is because in some cases size does matter, like for example if someone's yorkie is sick and if they have an extremely small yorkie, then that is important to know because it would be a bigger issue? Arr.. I worded that wrong.. I'm not saying that if someone has a bigger Yorkie then it wouldn't matter as much, but people who have really small yorkies have to be more careful and if it is sick then it will have more of a chance of going to a vet than a standard sized yorkie... Or sometimes they put their size down so you can have a better image of what it looks like in your head! But of course size doesn't matter when it comes to loving your Yorkie!!! |

| I've wondered this too, but I think a lot of the time it's like when a baby is born....what's the first thing people always ask: "How much did it weigh?" And that doesn't stop! If you run into a friend with her baby, at SOME point you usually ask, or she mentions, how much it weighs. I dunno....it's just one of those things people like to know! And I think that it helps people envision your pet too....it's hard to tell in pictures....a 12 lb yorkie can look just like a 4 lb. one.....so, not that it's better or worse to be larger or smaller....but it just helps you picture the dog better! And then, there's always people PROUD of how small their dog is! I think I mention Mazie's weight a lot, but not because I'm proud of it....I WISH she would gain weight! PS, geez, while I was typing all that out...everyone else said what I was going to say!

| ...forgot to add, glad we aren't required to do it for ourselves...I'd hate to start out meeting anyone new and have to state how old I was and how much I weighed....
