SOMEBODY WANTS TO BUY A PUPPIE FROM ME. I AM IN TEXAS. AND SHE WHO WANTS TO BUY THE PUPPIE IS FROM COLORADO. SHE IS RIGHT NOW IN TEXAS. AND SHE IS DRIVING BACK TO HER HOME STATE IN AUG.THE QUESTION IS . SHOULD I SELL HER A PUPPIE. FIRST THE DRIVE IS 18 HOURES. PLUS THE PUPPIE IS 4 MONTHS OLD. HE HAS 2 SISTERS AND 1 BROTHER. CAN HE HANDLE THAT LONG DRIVE/plus leaving his sister and brother.the girl who wants to buy him. has no other animal. i need you guys input. what should i do.

depends if you can keep him or not. if you can afford to him and want to keep him...then i would just say keep him and don't sell him.

If she is going to stop every few hours to let the puppy potty and stretch his legs, he should be fine.Plus she will need to make sure to feed him and give him plenty of water. The puppy will cry a bit when she gets him home but should be fie being by himself as long as he gets plenty of attention.

When we got Lexie it was a 12 hour drive. We kept her in a kennel with food and water during the drive. As long as the puppy has access to water I can't see any problems. JMO

We took our little Rexy on vacation with us this summer - he was 4 1/2 months old when we left. We drove about 6 hours per day for four days (to Colorado from Austin, Texas) and he had no problems at all. Of course, he was not new to us - we'd had him for a few weeks. But in general, traveling is not a problem - as long as you stop for potty breaks, and have a comfortable safe place for them to sleep, and access to periodic food and water.

It is my experience that most dogs, puppies and full grown, sleep most of the time the car is in motion. Of course, there are exceptions - and some pups/dogs do have motion sickness. But I see no reason to not sell the puppy, if that is what you want to do.

I would make sure if it's hot she has AC and she is planning on stopping every couple hours.

It all depends on if you are wanting to sell your pups but if she is a nice person who you think will provide a good loving home for your baby then i say go ahead but you are the breeder so you need to advise her on what she needs to do on the drive home like the stopping for potty breaks make sure she has food and water a leash and a harness and mabey some nutrical. does she know anything about the breed? If she doesn't mabey sit her down and explain somethings about them. also if she isn't leaving till aug mabey she can come visit the puppy everday till she leaves so she is familliar with him. Well whatever you decide good luck!

I recently purchase a new puppy and the drive was 19 hours .

I'd say if you like her and think she will give your little puppy a good home, then go ahead. Just make sure she has AC in her car if it's hot, that she stops often so the puppy can get out and walk around a bit and that she feeds him and gives him plenty of water along the way. I'd also suggest she have some Nutrical with her.

I would say go for it, if this she is an experianced small dog owner but if she has never had a dog before, and you know how delicate our little ones are, you may want to reconsider.

Also keep in mind it HOT out there right now. Does she seem responsible enough not to leave him in the car while they stop for gas, shopping or dining? Even with the AC on, if the puppy is in a crate with the sun beating down on it, he can get over heated.

You have to have faith in people. I know lots of people who has never had dogs, but love them so much! Just because she doesn't have a dog, doesn't mean she can't handle the responsibility. Even if the puppy is pee pad trained, she just has to stop every couple of hours and let him or her stretch out their legs, and give him or her water.
