good luck. I'm sure he will be fine but I know you worry. I've had one neutered before but never had one spayed as Kizzy is my first girl dog since I was a young girl. But she will be getting spade sometimes within the next couple of weeks hopefully. I havent made the appt yet but I will as soon as Aug 3rd as I can. So prayers for you and Tiger. |
Tiger is in my prayers. He will do great! The onsies are very helpful if they start to go after the stitches like Cali did. |
Des, my thoughts are with you and Tiger. I'm sure everything will be fine and Tiger will be uncontrollably romping in very short order. You might consider separating the two. A diaper or an elizabethan collar would help with stiches, if he has any. Some vets don't put stiches in little boys. One of my cats pulled her stiches out on post-op day two. I was so upset, rushed her into the vet. As it turns out. she only pulled the stiches holding the outer tissue layers together. The ones deep inside (the ones that count) were still intact. In fact, by that second day her incision had already healed on the outside. The vet said not to worry, and she had no problems. He did put an elizabethan collar on her just to be safe. I think it lasted another day as I could not stand to see her in it! The moral of this story? This will bother you alot more than it will bother Tiger! We are here for you! |
I totally understand how you feel. I was a nervous wreck when Zoe got neutered. I even cried when I dropped him off. Then the worst came, he had LP surgery a month later. He's fine now but still recovering. Tiger will be in my prayers!! I'm sure he will be fine. Yea, I would put him in a xpen for a few days so that he dosen't have heavy excersize during the first few days of healing. GOOD LUCK! |
Cooper and I will say a prayer and be thinking of you and him |
Tiger is in our prayers..Zoe gives him kisses and will think of him...I know how you feel, we have to get spayed next month and I'm scared to death! Jennie |
I just had my Bo fixed this week...and it was so scarey for me and hubby to actualy he was spose to be fixed a month b4 now but hubby made me put it off he said he just couldnt let him go through it yet so i put it off.........but after it was over we both realized it wasnt half as bad as we thought it was going to be....he was back to himself it two days...as far as your other little guy i would just keep them away from eachother for a day and after that i would think it would be ok....*hugs* my prayers and thought are with you and your baby on thursday |
we send love and prayers. |
I'm sure dogs are different... But a few years ago - I brought my little boy home and he slept for a few hours - woke up - ate - and then I couldn't keep him from playing. He was already back to normal. Of course, I kept him as quiet as I could for a few days, but he didn't pay much attention to me.... and, he played pretty much as usual with my other dog - at least from the second day on............... Good luck! |
Des--let us know how Tiger is doing after you pick him up :) |
Thank you all for the comforting words . . . .it sure helps to know that most of you have been down this road and know how I am feeling. I have complete confidence in my VET but you just never know :( Tomorrow is the BIG day and I just want it to be over . . . I will visit him after his surgery even if I cannot take him home yet. I am so glad he is not even gonna be a mile away from home . .but it sure will be weird without him at home. I am glad I have Annika around to keep me preoccupied. |
:hands: saying my prayers for Tiger. |
Des, please post tomorrow and let us know how Tiger is! |
Hi Des.... I'll be praying for Tiger on Thurs. I know all will go well. I would keep him and Annika separated for a few days afterwards. I know Parker was really sore for several days. I'll keep you in my prayers. Give Tiger kisses from Maddie:p |
I'll say a prayer for Tiger. I'm sure he'll be okay. Max was groggy the day of the procedure when I picked him up but he was back to his old self the next day. He was such a good boy, too. He never tried to lick his stitches so I didn't have to put a onsie or e-coller on him. He was also calm for the most part, but Abbie hadn't become part of the family until the following year so I didn't have to worry about him playing too rough. I'd just make sure one is in the ex-pen when they are not supervised so they don't play too rough. Good luck :) |
