| oh thats great. And know you are relieved she is gonna be ok. Goodluck for a full recovery on whatever the problem was. Let us know when you get her home and what the vet finds out the problem was if they ever know.

On sunday the 13th my two yorkies were outside of the house in their kennel playing when so long after a while i had someone bring in the dogs. The boy that came to bring them in had mentioned that my dog lexi wasn't walking right. I told him to then pick her up. I saw that she was struggling to take a step and was walking as if she were intoxicated. She was panting 5x faster than normal and she wouldn't close her mouth. Her body was completely lifeless. I could feel every bone, and rib in her body. I for sure thought she was going to be dead. I took her upstairs and asked the hubby what to do, and we then took her back outside, layed her on a soaking wet towel, with icecubes surrounding her body. Although she didn't have strength enough to drink her own water i had to use the hampters squirt type bottle to assure she was getting enough water. I also had to keep her body wet and we had a fan blowing in front of her. For several hours she was still dragging her back legs, but my lexie is back to normal. I am still wondering if i should run her to the vet still. I believe she had a heat stroke....my other yorkie was normal other than the fact that he was thirsty.

could she have had heat Stroke ? The heat can be terrible on small dogs and I hope yours is going to be ok - I would def call the vet - she may need to be checked and also ask the vet how to prevent this from happening again. You were lucky - it sounds like that could have much worse and I'm glad she seems ok now...but that is serious.....your vet can advise you on what you should do. | |
