If you have a cool place to leave him (you said your basement is) - I wouldn't worry about it. I do leave my AC on for my pets. I have two birds and two dogs that are in the house when I work - and my house gets very hot. So, I just bite the bullet and leave the AC on. None of my pets can tolerate the heat very well. I think they would be miserable and actually get sick.... or worse with the birds! Carol Jean |
I know how you feel with this heat and your furbaby. I live on the second fl in a two story Condo. My a/c has been running since last week. I run the living room during the day (sun when I am home) turn off the living room at night and turn on the bedroom, in the am I turn on the living room also and run both until I leave. then I turn them both off. I also am afraid to leave them running all day unattended. It was 101 here yesterday and when I left home my condo was 68 inside. When I returned last night at 5:30 it was 78 inside and 101 outside. I close all the blinds and it stays real cool inside all day. It is still very light inside for Buddy with the blinds closed. Hope that helps you. |
