| Toto is 21 months and her coat reaches the floor and curls under! I can't seem to find a groomer that knows how to groom her except to mess up her ears, shave her rear and cut the hair off the inside of her rear legs to keep her "skirt" from getting wet when she goes pee pee [and believe me, that is not the solution]!! I was told by Ava [breeder] that it needs to be just cut evenly straight around the bottom but the groomer didn't want to do that ... I don't know why not? She really wanted to cut around her eyes ... I asked her not to ... we are still trying to grow the hair back where another groomer shaved up the middle of her nose about a year ago!! Groomers are a real frustration for me right now! To answer your question about growth ... I believe that some grow faster than others ... Toto's seems to grow slow. If it grew faster I would be tempted to have her a puppy cut for the summer. I'm sure there are more experienced people on the forum that can help us all on this subject.
