| My yorkies hair types:confused: Any advise as to what kind of coat my babies have?? If you look at my males' legs you can see it is real thin there, why is that?? I know it will grow in while he gets older, but just was wondering.

| Aw your babies are precious! I love your males coloring. I think they are silk too. There have been threads about red legged yorkies and the hair on their legs is shorter and doesnt grow long like ther yorkies do. I am not qualified to tell you if yours is a red legged I am just letting you know it is a possibility. You could do a red legged yorkie search and see pictures of some though.

| The coat on hte last picture looks like Silk's coat only Silk's coat is longer (she is older). Silk has a silky coat, my ceeby has a silky coat and the jury is out on my baby, dixie. But I think it is cotton. It has a little wave in it. That is all that tangles tho. Dixie is seven months old and looks like your first picture. |

I just took these pictures right now he is 14 weeks 4 days old today. Candy is a little over a year old and was about 11 months old in the picture above. Thank you very much for looking at them, it is very much appreciated.

| Candy does the hair have a bit of a course hair texture? if so he may be a red leg. Your little girl looks like she will be a black silk, if it has shine and her texture is cool to the touch and silky. The black running through the center of her head sometimes will indicate the head will not clear to gold...time will tell. hope this helps

And Nemo's hair needs to be comb about every 3 days then he will be okay. I don't know if that is because he plays outside alot or what. Do you think he will be silky?? Whats a good age to know what kind of hair he will have??? I have pictures of his parents let me see if I can post them. I will send them in the next message right now. I heard something about smaller yorkies hair sometimes stay blk/tan as adults because they are soo tiny. Candy weighs 2.7 lbs. could that be why she is staying blk/tan although both her parents were silver, but they also both weighed over 5 lbs. and Candy came out tiny. In Candy's case I don't think looking at her parents will give a good insite as to what she will look like as an adult.

It is a question of genetic . |
