10K for a Yorkie!?!?!?

Those prices are ridiculous!! I love this breed, but they better be able to clean my house, do laundry and fix meals for that price. We should all e-mail them and ask why their Yorkies are so special to ask that price.

I have to laugh at this post because this site actually helped me get Ruby. My husband was waffling on getting a Yorkie because of the high cost of the dogs I was finding. Well, then I came across this site, back when I was searching, hubby didn't think $700. to $1000. was too terrible compared to the prices of these pups.

Of course, you can't pay $10,000 for a Yorkie pup! That's crazy! What would be left to pay for all the other stuff - normal vet bills, toys, haresses, leashes, clothes, treats, travel accessories, etc., etc. . I'm sure it will go down in time (there is a limit to what you can buy for one Yorkie, isn't there?), but we've spent just over $400 a month on Bailey since we got her.

I agree - we don't want to belabor the point in this thread - but yes. We spent over $800 in the first two months we had her. Almost half was vet bills, and half of that was probably unnecessary - we changed vets over it. But I'm bettin' that if other people kept the kind of records I keep on how they spend their money, many of them would be surprised at just how much they spend on their Yorkies. It just adds up. A buck or two here, $5 or $10 there.

I spent at least that much too when I got Chachi. His puppy shots were in a package that was the next day and that was $250. Then he got sick and that was another $200 plus the cost of a follow up visit which I dont remember how much and there was the cost of everything we bought for him.

It really upsets me to see breeders like this. They are breeding tinies, marketing to gullible people, and making large profits. And it's the poor little yorkies who suffer in the end with all the health problems that go along with being so tiny. Not to mention the owners who are burdened with high vet bills. Very sad.

When we were looking for Meg we seen these prices everywhere. we would call a breeder and just ask do you have any pups not show quality. we wanted a pet we arnt going to start breeding we arnt going to show her.
[and people who do is fine im not knocking you] but we didnt have $2500 to spend on a dog. and shipping come on now love you babys enough to pick them up or transport them yourself i think shipping could be cruel. i would never pack one of my kids in a creat and ship them by themselfs all scared and alone. you cant just buy them a first class ticket so it would be hard on a long trip but if all possible drive.

OMG, shipping damn well better be free!! Can you imagine $8,000 to $10,000 for an 8 month old dog...and then another $250 for shipping!! It's enough to make you scream, these people are crazy. What' crazier...is that there is someone out there who is willing to pay that much for god knows what reason.

This is just absurd. I wouldn't spend that much for a dog even if it did pooh gold nuggets...on principle I wouldn't think twice about it. Gosh.

Am I missing something here? I didnt see a puppy for 10K. But there was one for 8K. Either way to me all these puppies are over priced.
