| Google's ear scratching caused by his teeth!? I just got back from the vet. Google has been scratching his ears nonstop and shaking his head like he's trying to get somethign out of them. The vet said his ears are looking healthy and there's no sign of mites or infection, but in his opinion Google's teeth are causing the discomfort. Google's baby teeth have not come out, and his adult teeth are almost all in already--it looks like he's got shark teeth. So the vet wants to pull his baby teeth when he goes in for neutering. Has anyone heard of the teeth making their furbabies shake their heads like that? Oh, and he got weighed today, and is now 6.1 pounds. The vet says to expect him to be nearly 8 pounds as an adult. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | yeah this could be the case. if may just seem like he is scratching his ears when in fact he's trying to get at his mouth. Also, teeth cause eye problems as well. So a problem in one area when show up in another area. how old is google? has he been neutered already? if not get his teeth pulled when he's neutered, or if he's already been done, then still get his teeth pulled. its causing him discomfort.

Yep, I have heard of that. They know something is wrong, but their not sure what. It's a good idea to have the teeth pulled at the same time he's being neutered, it's a lot less stress for them. Hugs to Google!!!!

| Yes, I'll be getting him neutered soon and when I do I'll have his baby teeth pulled. I was going to put off neutering for a little while longer, but since this has cropped up and I don't want his bite, vision etc affected and I don't want him to be in discomfort, we're going to move it up. He's 6 1/2 months old now, so he's old enough for neutering, I think. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | This in interesting, Cali has retained almost all of her baby teeth. recently she lost 2 top front and I big molar in the back is loose, she 1 year old and they weren't able to pull them when she was spayed. asked one of the vets if he though thet bothered her and he didn't think so. But she scratches her face all the time. It makes sense that it would bother her I guess I will have to get them pulled soon.
