| Baxter got his 1st shot today! Hi All, Baxter (8 weeks) got his first Puppy shot today. I think it hurt me worse than it did him. I was very pleased that he gained 3 ounces this week. If you remember, he was very ill with Coccidia. He now weighs 1 lb 2 oz and has regained his appetite. He is a tiny little guy. The vet also gave me some Frontline for fleas, and Heartguard. He said to use about 3/4 of the tube of Frontline. I am wondering though the Heargard cube is sooo big. Do you think he should eat it all? That is almost a meal for him! Pat |

| Hi Pat, I have a Baxter too - only he weighs 12 lbs! I remember asking my vet about the Heargard dose. I think it said 1 square per 10 lbs, and mine only weighed 4 lbs at the time. The vet said I should still use it. However, your little guy is really small. I'd give them a call just to verify that you should give him the whole thing. Your Baxter is a beautiful little boy!

| Yes you want to give the whole heartworm preventative. You dont know if they are getting all of the active ingredients when you split it
