| The dog has to be AKC to show AKC and they have to be as close to the "breed standard" as defined on the AKC website as possible. Legally, you can breed any dog, but ethically there are a lot of things to consider like health, size, genetic defects, possibly the breed standard, and temperament. There are a lot of good books available on both subjects, but the best thing to do if you are serious about either is to find yourself a mento, a show breeder who would interested in "showing you the ropes" so to speak. |

| shows Good advise...your question could take pages..why not take one step at a time..start by going to a show..you can read a dozen books, but nothing like seeing things fisrt hand..where do you live? |
