| We recently went to Clearwater and there was only one dog friendly hotel on the beach. All the others were in the downtown area and you have to drive a ways to the beach. And their dog beach was nothing but some rocks and a tiny strip of sand. It was disappointing! I wish more places accepted pets. I'd love to hear of other placed we can go that are more dog friendly.

| Carmel, California! So far Carmel, California has been the most "Pet Friendly" town I have ever been to besides Boston both places have Hotels,Motels & Restaurants that will even seat Yorkie's @ the Table. As well as Sonoma, California the wine country even has guided tours that include your Pets! San Francisco is great too! You can take them on the "Cable Cars", Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 and actually Golden Gate Park is like Heaven for Dogs |

| Lucy is going to the beach! We are vacationing in York Beach, Maine for the second time this summer. I found our vacation rental using the website BringFido.com York Beach and Long and Short Sands beaches are "pet friendly" meaning I am allowed to walk on the beach with Lucy before 8am and after 6pm. The last time we were there I noticed people bringing their dogs to the beach at these times and I missed my girl so much as I had left her at home. I am thrilled to be taking her along this time and I hope to take her on every vacation from now on. We live in PA and could easily go south but I find the beaches in New England to be less crowded and more family oriented.... the age range in our group is 17 to 84 years old. I could use some advice and tips on how to plan for Lucy's vacation- what do I need to take, best schedule for traveling, etc... Thanks!

| Folly Beach, South Carolina is a fabulously pet friendly destination. The only hotel on the island welcomes pets as pampered guests. Pups are always welcome on the beach as long as owners follow the rules and clean up after them. You can't visit Folly Beach without stopping in to the Lost Dog Cafe for breakfast on the patio with your pups. |

| Dog Fancy rated Bend, Oregon the #1 dog friendly city in the U.S. - we've been there umpteen times, including last summer and had a blast with our pup down by the river and in town. Also, I agree, Carmel is definitely very dog-friendly and a gorgeous place to vacation. |

| The Florida Keys are extremely dog friendly. Leashed pets are welcomed at all outdoor dining. In lower Miami I have openly shopped with the girls in Michaels Crafts, Bed, Bath and Beyond, The Dollar Tree, Sears and Home Depot. In Key Largo people take their dogs in K-Mart and Divers Direct. Two days ago I was in the Islamorada CVS and Walgreen, as well as Pier One Imports. We purposely choose restaurants with outdoor dining so that we can take the girls.
